Adine, I just found this video today. Your presentation is fantastic and informative. I’m one of your early followers of Khanyisa. She was so small and terribly injured. I cried and smiled everyday. As you rescued Khanyisa, she rescued me. As I sat home confined due to covid - I became depressed and lonely. Then HERD came into my life via KZitem. The first HERD story was about Jabulani and his broken leg. Then videos of Khanyisa started showing up on KZitem. Khanyisa’s fight for life and Adine’s daily video helped me. She was raising awareness and asking for foster parents. I quickly became a foster parent and frequent donor towards Jabulani. I’m still a foster mother to Khanyisa and HERD. As well as, five starving Asian Elephants in Thailand (Gentle Giants Foundation.). -Skeens Family 🇺🇸

can you please explain what happened, I didn't understand why and how Tokwa Sotombe the first 5 or 6 big elephants came together and I think I recall you saying a farm closed? so they were in danger of being without a home? and the elephants each had their own human that came with them to the Jabulani HERD? I'm confused about where those elephant came from. where they working elephants that were forced to give rides or clear bush lands? was this a blessing in disguise that the farm closed down so they could live more like wild elephants? or were they already as free as they are at Jabulani?

I've been following H.E.R.D. since shortly after they rescued the little, pink albino elephant Khanyisa. The story of the Jabulani herd is absolutely astonishing, and you begin to realize these are sentient, compassionate, and very intelligent creatures. The care they receive from the people there is remarkable and demonstrated by their success. They certainly deserve the financial support of anyone who can afford to do so. They have their own KZitem channel and post daily videos: kzitem.info

Where else can we see humans and elephants interact completely naturally together in the wild than HERD. Thank you Adine and HERD team for all you do. Phabeni and Khanyisa are alive and well today because of HERD rescue. It takes 8 years to get the babies to adulthood. HERD is doing fundraising for a solar panel grid setup so they can get off reliance on South Africa electricity grid. Lammie is a legend.

Well done presentation and overview of your awesome HERD program, about which I have been familiar with and a supporter of since the spring of 2020, shortly after the arrival of Khanyisa. You, yourself, are an ‘allmother’ to all the elles in the Jabulani herd! Your work and efforts are invaluable! ❤️✌️🙏🏻

This is such great coverage of HERD and baby K. Adine is correct...Khanyisa was a large part of my very isolated days during COVID. I care for a sick sister (metastatic cancer) so I still isolate so I don't bring illness into her world. It makes for a very cloistered and lonely existence sometimes. Khanyisa was so damaged when she was rescued so her spirit and recovery is a major inspiration to me. I look forward to those update videos soooo much. I send a little money to HERD and a little money to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. We need to care for all the babies.

Adine. The laws must be changed. Hunting, snaring, mutilation, poaching must be completely prohibited and the consequences for violating these laws must be severe - punishable by death. Any other despicable behavior such as deliberate cruelty, abuse, using the animals as a form of entertainment, torture, malnourishment, etc., must be punishable by permanent imprisonment. A full scale educational program must be developed and implemented for the entire human population.

I wish I was at this live. I would of asked her why she keeps all the females on birth control. My guess is cost of more care or male aggression ? I follow herd from Canada. I seen an episode where she said the herd is under birth control. I would love to see more babies. Can’t get enough of them . But I also know how much other herds even in wild love having their babies too.
