A narrative-driven style based on the Stanley Parable to showcase the Site 31 build prior to the release of Satisfactory Update 6.
The story of Becky follows the life of an ordinary Ficsit Pioneer and her working experience. As she mindlessly performs her tasks, the viewers get a glimpse of what's going on in her mind. All of which will come crashing down as the story unfolds.
The overall theme is a combination of the Narration style of The Stanley Parable & visual elements of the movie Stranger Than Fiction. The map design was heavily inspired by Black Mesa & Half life. Many of the architectural aspects of certain buildings were based on Brutalist Architecture. The main extraction facility featured here is based on Adrian Mihai's Marchidan Coastal City. Other artists that I drew reference from includes: Jung Park, Kamila Szutenberg, Paul Chadeisson & MoodVisual's Just Cause 4 Concept art.
Unfortunately I was unable to hire the actual voice actor Kevan Brighting for the narration. Multiple attempts were made to contact his agency only resulted in a generic response with no way to move forward. Perhaps they were busy. At the same time the site which I used to create the Text To Speech voice was also under heavy traffic. Which made it almost impossible to create new voice lines, thus a lot of the grammatical errors were left as they were.
This is the 2nd time I've used Adobe After Effects, with a 3 year gap in between. This was a very beneficial learning experience, many avoidable mistakes were made and corrected. Some, hindered the overall workflow significantly. But to create the visual effects of Stranger Than Fiction's intro scene, After Effects is a must.
This save is built in vanilla with Micro Manage mod. That means the save file can be loaded by anyone without having to install any mod. Once I have sometime to finish up the build, I will post the link and share it with everyone.
