Just to show how weird of a year it was. Aaron Stecker had been a RB and Kick Returner for a few years in TB. This was still during the "no Bucs return time". Stecker went to the Saints that offseason. When the Saints came to town Stecker lined up to return. He fumbled the kick, the ball rolled all the way back to the Saints own end zone. Stecker picked up the ball and ran it all the way back the other way for a TD.

Hey Mike, thanks for uploading these bucs videos. I just played a season with tampa on madden 04 (the 2003 season) I created myself as the quarterback, and had to win out just to get to 9-7 and make the playoffs. Its fun being the bucs on madden because Ronde Barber and Derrick Brooks are INT- machines and Simeon Rice, Booger, and Sapp on the line is fire too. I grew up in around Chicago and I'm bears-or-die but these early 2000s tampa teams were fun. I think they didn't piss a drop after that super bowl win, because there were soooo many bad ego's in that organization. John Gruden is obviously up his own ass. SB Nation has a good video on here of why the Bucs collapsed so quickly. Plus, coming from a lifelong bears fan, you'll only go as far as your quarterback will allow. A historic defense can't win multiple superbowls, you gotta be able to score at will,too. No disrespect to Brad Johnson, but he was never elite. Chris Simms was pretty bad. Shaun King, etc

When I go back and watch alot of these games from 2003, something was just off. Our defense just missed so many tackles and our secondary blew so many coverages. I don't know why exactly but it's hard to watch.

The worst loss was in week 2 vs the panthers, they lost because they had the extra point blocked, right next to giving up that 21 point lead in the 4th to colts.

The Bucccaneers had a great team in the early 2000,s they had great RBS , WRS and a great defense the only problem was that they had a terrible QB if they had Good QB they would've won like 3 straight super bowls
@bowlchamps37
5 жыл бұрын
Great RBs and WRs is maybe a stretch. They were solid but Bucs never got a good o_line and run game going to match the great defense. That is the one thing that cost the Bucs more wins and possible titles. The lack to control the game on the ground.

Mike P -- we were 7-8 and Brad threw three interceptions and got benched and we lost to a Titans team that was playing their back-up QB. It was a game where one could tell they weren't the same team and it continued to the next season when we started 0-4 and benched Brad Johnson.

I agree and if that 1999 Bucs would have wone the Superbowl they were robbed out of T.Dungy wouldn't have been let go so there wouldn't have been a J.Gruden to under value the defense and let most of them leave and the Buccaneers might not have self destructed after the 2003 season
