His pace obviously made him lethal, but also it was his directness of play and his tenacity and insane work rate. That Leicester championship team was just such a perfect lightning in a bottle moment, and a lot of credit has to go to their scouting/player development. Vardy’s finishing was amazing, but so was the service he was getting from the midfield, they just had perfect players/team/system to spring his quick-attack, defense breaking runs. One thing underrated about him is his team play and link-up/passing ability, which i think he got better and better at as he aged… When he didn’t have quite the same quality of distribution coming his way, or wasn’t able to get behind the defense, he made up for it by providing a fair number of scoring opportunities for teammates.

Vardy actually scored a rare type of clutch goal throughout his Euro 2016 campaign with England. I still remember his goal against Wales, it would be rendered offside by now, but that kind of clutch goal definitely was something rare, but he made it looks easier; he got past Ashley Williams in an offside position, while the ball deflected from the Welsh defender to his foot, then scored it right inside the box.

I will never not be angry about THAT Croatia match against a ponderous back line crying out for a pacey striker with a record of scoring decisive goals to undo them, but instead Kane was put out to lumber around the pitch not being very useful (this was a season or so before the man learned he could pass to his teammates instead of taking on and missing every shot) and Vardy got left on the bench until the game reached injury time with England a goal down. Haven't been able to get excited about the national team since that confirmation that the England team is only picked on favourites, not on the basis of who's the best actual fit for the situation.

And isn't it what we all want to end up leaving the things we're involved in better than when we arrived there?

"Because when you're clutch, you're clutch everywhere." These words couldn't really more describe just how much of a clutch-type player he is. He always scored when he got any golden opportunity to do so, became the silver-lining in most of matches he played, while turned the silver into gold with his assists that actually were too much of a world-class for someone who had been spending his much of career in lower divisions, with Leicester being the only professional club he had been played. While that match against Manchester United, I never really watched it, he struck me really well when he played against Newcastle during that 2014-2015 as he somehow saved the club from losing points by his match winning goal.

Great video 👊🏻👏🏻 Vardy was a real throwback EPL Striker, used to love having him on Ultimate Team 😅. The only thing with him not playing for England was that he had a rival to be England's number 1 striker.... Harry Kane 😅

Michael Owen said Vardy wasn’t a natural goal scorer (clueless) Vardy has scored lots of different goals and makes it look so simple.

vardy, mahrez and kante all in their prime and hungry, all supported by a squad of ultimate pros having their best seasons added to a couple of big clubs in transition and theres your recipe for a premier league, even after all these years i still struggle to believe they did it,on its own as an achievement its the best underdog story ever in sport, when u add in the previous few seasons the manager change etc it really is ridiculous, add in the helicopter crash near the ground killing the chairman and an FA cup win the story of leicester city in the 2010s early 20s is the most remarkable in all of sports,i know football movies are crap but if a good director could take this underdog story and all its moving parts and write a script from the right angle and perspective it could maybe be ok although because its football a documentary that shows the real goals big matches and memories will probs always be better

I've thought about Jamie more than any other player in my life. I dare say football to him is a mind game. When he finds the discipline to keep his demons in order, they inspire him to score like there was no tomorrow.

As a diehard Tottenham supporter, i have this odd combination of absolute bitterness & respect for Jamie Vardy. We lost the 2015-16 season & we can only blame ourselves. Nowdays, Jamie Vardy's story is unbelievable. We will never see another player to trudge through the depths of English football pyramid & then grace EPL with an immense peak for his club. i will die being envious of Leicester City FC being able to experience such level of joy after their 15/16 season.

Players like Vardy is why it's so important to have solid grass roots football and well supported academies. Maybe he wouldn't have become the player he was had he not gone through that but shrely he could have had a slightly easier time at it. Just imagine had he come to the EPL 5 years earlier. He may have been in the same discussion as someone like Harry Kane.

That Leicester team was special, Vardy was an absolute baller, Kante was dominating midfields against the top 6 at the time, Mahrez on the wing was deadly. Just a brilliant & special team! Will never be repeated in history what that team achieved and the whole of England no matter who you supported was backing them

Besides the obvious quality he had, Vardy always gave me the idea he was a pro player with 7th tier attitude and that in a good sense as in he loves to play no matter if it was on Old Trafford or Wembley or even just a regular pitch in a local park.

He is just a pure footballer, like those pure kids playing football in the park... Honestly, I'm on the idea that football academy somewhat ruined many talents more. So, the situation he had back then was quite a blessing in disguise, worked great in a hindsight. As he would just play in a bar club for the sake of it but then scored goals like it was nothing.

Hey bro I love your content. Can you make a video covering the Guatemalan legend Carlos "El Pescadito" Ruiz? He had a very interesting career. He has the most world cup qualifying goals ever, even above Ronaldo. His 01/02 season with LA Galaxy was the most unique season I've ever seen. 32 goals contributing to the MLS Cup and Supporter's Shield. To my knowledge, I don't know anyone else in the 21st century who scored more than 50% of his team's goal in a season. Would really appreciate you considering this as a video 🙏

You could also consider making a video on the match-fixing in the game between Trinidad and Tobago and Mexico in the 2006 WCQ which left Guatemala's golden generation out of what should have been there first ever world cup experience.

Wow I never thought I’d here the name Carlos Ruiz on this channel. He scored a Bicycle kick against DC United in either the 2005 or 2006 season, it’s still the best goal I have ever seen live at a stadium.

That thing about the 50% peaked my interest, so I went look for examples and the first I found was Jardel for Sporting, ironically in 2001/2002 as well. 55 goals out of Sporting's 105 were scored by him. In fact, he did it more than once, in 99/00, he scored 56 out of Porto's 107. He even got close to doing it for Grémio... This kinda thing is why he is one of my all time favourites.

Jamie Vardy is really underrated. For me, I only saw the clip where he kicked that Rainbow LGBT flag. But after this video, i understood that he isnt just a regular player, he is a player who succeeded without believing in himself, going to jail and, thinking about this, I think i can succeed to.
