I watch your work from Pakistan where piano is not a common instrument. I got one at age fifty and taught myself to play the same pieces you are playing in this video. That was twelve years ago.... I have played for my rescued animals, with some of them in my lap as they went through their last moments. Somehow, I felt I was honoring these lives, and playing them into a place of peace and beauty. Coming across your video with you playing the same beautiful compositions makes me feel more connected to those who love these sentient beings and makes me feel less alone

Humans sadly only ever see some of our fellow creatures to be exploited and not worthy of care & protection. Paul’s emotional reaction when talking about his experiences playing for the elephants made it so clear he only saw them as what they truly are - complex, sentient creatures that are capable of many of the emotions that too many humans think only they are capable of. I would consider it an honour to shake Paul’s hand and thank him for spending time with such wonderful creatures.

I am not religious but I’m moved to say bless you for representing the humans on this planet that feel strongly regarding the way such beautiful & sentient fellow creatures have (and continue) to be treated so cruelly. Thankfully attitudes towards elephants have taken a massive turn for the better and now more humans see elephants as fellow creatures to be loved & protected. what a truly indescribably beautiful, wonderful gift he continues to share with these elephants, these angels. when treated with humility that’s exactly what they exhibit, which doesn’t suprise me. i suppose this is some semblance of justice, giving to them the humanity that was taken from them. although it’s only part of a greater reckoning; activism aganist animal cruelty and education is the other half, i think. may he continue to play for them, for as long as he can. they deserve every bit of peace, love, and compassion that music can provide
