Stories and anecdotes | The story of the judge’s intelligence. Popular stories from Arab anecdotes and anecdotes
At the gates of the city, the Caliph saw a crippled man whose old, tattered clothes suggested his poverty and need. He took pity on him and got off his horse and gave him some money. The crippled poor man thanked him and wished him well. They told the Caliph to mount his horse and continue his journey into the city, but the crippled man clung to his robe with strength, saying, “Oh noble Lord, you have done well.” He did me a favor and did me a favor, so he completed it. The Caliph looked at him in astonishment and said, “What do you want, man?” Do you want more money? The crippled man said, “I am a crippled man, as you can see, and I cannot walk. I would be grateful to you if you carried me on the back of your horse to the city market.” The Caliph took pity on him and made him sit on the horse’s back, then led him heading into the city.
