It's so heart-wrenching, when the Mahler comes in at the end. Makes me cry every time. Is that the opposite of Bathos? Going from the ridiculous to the sublime.. It's very much in the clown tradition..

I was there when they filmed it. We were front row (on the left in front of Vic n Bob for this sketch), and Mark Lamarr came and sat on the floor right in front of us. We asked him for his autograph, he just signed it, winked, pointed his finger and said 'stay cool'. What a great evening.

I was about 12 when this was on and I'd never really noticed Sinead O'Connor being particularly beautiful. When box came off at the beginning I actually said out loud "Wow, hello!" I mean, Jesus what a stunner. What a smile. I feel like I'd make quite a fool of myself over a smile like that.
