Food for thought: Based on the lore, Spider Murphy was actually the one who slotted Johnny with Soul Killer, Johnny got blown in half by Smasher during a distraction sortie while Morgan Blackhand planted the bombs. Remember one of the things you can talk to Johnny about when he asks what the worst thing about Mikoshi is and you say "they can change who you are"? That's the gist of it, the engram isn't Robert John Linder, it's some shred of his original soul-killed program with a bunch of junk added, probably by Arasaka and specifically Yorinobu. Why would Yorinobu put that engram on the Relic anyway? To make sure that if his dad did get it back, he'd end up with Johnny Silverhand in his brain-case, with all the authority from the Saburo skin-suit to kill the company once and for all? If he was going to take it to netwatch, like the backstory hints, what would that do, let netwatch accidently breach the black-wall trying to reach the Alt Cunningham AI gestalt? Why did he bluster at the NUSA and Militech in his speeches following Saburo's death, to start the Fifth Corporate War that would likely be the last? It almost seems like Yorinobu wanted to tear the entire system down, to make it all go away so everyone had to start again from scratch. The Irony is, Yorinobu may have been more Johnny Silverhand than Johnny Silverhand actually was.

I think the reasoning behind that was hinted during the conversation with Hellman in the motel before Takamura arrives. When discussing the biochip, in particular the engram, Hellman says that it's not Silverhands personality that's unique but the biochip. He also goes on to say something to the effect of they chose an engram that would not be missed. Since the biochip was the prototype and not the same one that Saburo would have slotted in, I think they chose Johnny since he wasn't affiliated with the secure your soul program (Silverhands involvement with the first bombing is still considered a myth) and even if the engram transfer failed, it was just one more freed up space in Mikoshi. I doubt this would be a reason for having Johnny on the biochip but even if the prototype was a success, since Saburo personally oversaw the project, he could get the satisfaction of killing Johnny one more time.

Kyoto, Dubai, Paris… these people had a chance today, but they lost it. To forget their fear. Fear. Ever since I can remember. The one thing I cannot deny him - he knew how to cause fear in people. He once told me anything of value is only a flag in wind. And wind, is Fear. And then you know what he did? Blew in my face. That was the one time he was wrong. And others ? It worked on them. They feared him. Even now. You saw! Idiots terrified of a dead pan talking from a box. Pathetic. I would change that. If only you did not appear. Power ? You… you think I wanted power ? Fifty years ago terrorists blew this building into smoke. And ? What it gives us ? Nothing ! But I learn lesson! If planting bombs not enough, what can you do ? You become bomb. » If there wasn’t the whole situation with the relic, Yorinobu, V and Johnny would have a lot of reason to be friends. The worst ending (The Devil) is the one ending where Yorinobu plan is stopped. In the others ending he end up killing the entire board and drive the company into the ground. Intel about how the relic was used to gather intel is leaked, and V is pretty much unscathed, they run the afterlife or drive away in the sunset with Panam, no real retaliation from Yorinobu for boasting through Arasaka HQ. Because Yorinobu is not V’s enemy, he’s his father enemy. A bomb whose sole purpose is destroying everything Saburo Arasaka worked so hard to accomplish. 9/10 antagonist, kinda wish we had more interaction with him during the story.

One additional thing to note on room 301: the words ‘I am not me’ are also written on the wall behind the bed in the room that you find Evelyn in when you rescue her from the scavs who were using her to scroll XBDs. The implication, at least to me, is that Evelyn and possibly others who were in this room were forced to write the phrase ‘I am not me’ over and over as a sort of mental torture. So the contents of that room may be less supernaturally sinister, and more mundanely so.

But Evelyn is a doll and dolls are often used as proxies like Hanako did with the one that visited V in the motel. One thing to note about the Buddhist monks. If you completed Sacrum Profanum - you can meet the two monks later outside one of the markets. You can ask them if a construct is a person and the answer they give you is basically "it's complicated" but they seem to lean ever so slightly into yes, where the capacity to suffer is what ultimately makes us alive. When you speak with the Zen Master before the 4th and final meditation the third question "Do you know what's happening to me?" leads to the following dialog: "You are dying. You have two soul within you - one wants to fight, the other is afraid." "Which one's mine?" "Both." So the Zen Master does consider Johnny to be a living being with a soul.

A few things that have been cleared up since this video released Pondsmith has gone on to confirm that the cat in the flashback is not nibbles, but is Rache Bartmoss' cat from the TTRPG, Death Wish. He also confirmed (somewhat jokingly) that Nibbles is Death Wish's great great great great grandkitten Cyberpsychosis is real, but isn't caused by "too many cybernetics." It's an addictive response, and was apparently designed back in '88 specifically as a reference to Roid Rage, compounded with emotional trauma. Trauma can speed up the psychosis effect, and the reason V was able to avoid it (besides having massive plot armor until the very end) was because a lot of that damage was just shoved off onto Johnny because of the weird effects of the biochip. How this explains V not going psycho if they survive the plot and Johnny doesn't, we don't know. Another thing: I feel like it's more likely that Mr. Blue Eyes and the blue-eyed-men are AIs, rather than Aliens. AIs have been trying to escape the Net since the 4th Corporate War (the one that started in 2021), and I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't evidence that they finally made their way out and into the real world by taking control of people in meatspace.

You might think that there's no difference, but from the point of view of the original V they no longer exist. The Devil ending on the other hand seems to imply that Arasaka simply cut the chip out of your head, thus preserving the consciousness of the original V.

@@ArmelM101 No, it wouldn't, it's a storytelling conventionality, would be rather anti-climactic if game ended at that point with a black screen and not seeing a proper epilogue would be quite disappointing and also seamlessly changing our perspective from real V to engram V highlights one of Cyberpunk's main themes on the nature of consciousness and soul. If you think about it the whole game is meant to make us wonder if we are still the same person after we get the chip after it literally brings us back from the dead, what does make a person, are we just a sum of our memories, an engram or is there something else like a "soul"? I don't think CDPR or original creators would sink to the levels of "Tech magic" that somehow transfers you onto a chip, it is simply not possible to transfer your consciousness that way and characters throughout the game say it many times that whatever it is on the engram is a COPY, also the word engram itself alludes to that fact too. What the soulkiller and this whole process does is that it maps out your brain making a perfect copy of it and puts the COPY on the chip that simulates a thought-process, all the while killing you in the process, because of what i assume is a technological imperfection which is removed in the new commercial chip as is evident by the fact that Saburo was alive while his engram existed separately and i doubt people would buy into the relic if it meant they would die in the process of making a copy of their mind. Remember that soulkiller killed both Johnny and Alt, their bodies were empty husks and Alt fired V up with soulkiller as well, basically killing them, after that it was a matter of choosing which engram to put on the chip to control the body. I think while this might sound depressing, it also very much in-line with Cyberpunk's themes and brings up many interesting ideas. This really isn't even a theory, because it is explained to us in the game.

The thing with Maximum Mike (who is Mike Pondsmith's, the creator of the cyberpunk setting, alter-ego in the setting), and Garry to a lesser extent, is that the conspiracy theories they spout are either real things based on the settings lore, or references to spinoffs to the Cyberpunk TTRPG (vampires are, notably, a reference to the CP2020/VtM crossover book from the early 90's). So, pretty much, _everything_ they say is an Easter Egg for fans of the TTRPG.

Mike Pondsmith also confirmed that the TTRPG's and the Video Game are apart of the same continuity so all of that is just in universe lore something that is referenced in the main story. I'd almost go so far as to suggest it seems like CDPR has been sabotaged at multiple points on this project, if you look at the details. However, some of it seems to come from in-house, and you can see the tells when they try to cover for certain things not having turned out as promised, or doubling back on what they've said. I'm actually currently exploring the Magenta Theory, and I found out some stuff that people aren't aware of: there are pink lights everywhere the second you exit the elevator to leave your apartment. If you follow them, they lead you to 3 different locations, Riot, I can't remember the other bar, and the roof of the Afterlife. On top of that, when I broke into one of the bars, there was a red and white room with a very similar setup to the hidden room in the Peralez house. The theory is probably going to reveal that the way they infected people without knowing is Joytoys in someway. Because frankly, I found the lack of them odd in a place like Night City. And this one is just my personal guess: I think when Lizzy went full chrome, someone messed with her head, and she's being used as a puppet. She's literally the only character in the ENTIRE GAME that every time you see her, she has bright pink. Also. The devs said it'll obvious in hindsight, and this seems to fall in to category way too well once you notice the lights aren't just randomly placed. Riot is locked behind story progression too, and far enough along that anyone who avoided Takemura (which a very large percent of the player base avoided as long as possible) would be locked out of it until they play the main story

The Peralez quest has, in my opinion, been incredible. It was short and in the grand scheme of the wider story of the game, didn't matter at all. But, and I've held that position ever since the first playthrough after launch, it's about the implications of the quest. 1. Putting an immense amount of trust on a security company in that world. 2. The existence of tech and feasibility of using said tech for changing, what I can recall, the brain structure of humans. 3. This not being the only case.

The "Smasher sees You" Can be canon as there is actually more to it. If You read his stats and cyberware, he is running a heat-detector among his vision implants. This, plus enhanced audio recorder similar to the ones in BD recorders. Additionally he stops for a seconds after leaving the elevator as if off-put by the presence. My head-canon is that Yorinobu simply told Adam (or someone from Arasaka) "DO NOT INTERVENE". So he simply, stood by. Looking at his potential prey. Note that Takemura could easily detect both V and Jackie, but was told not to do a sweep. Doubt that Takemura has more sophisticated implants than Smasher.

I don't think he needs to be told that. The millisecond you lifted a finger against Yorinobu, your body would have been found outside the building and your head 4 and 6 streets over. The blood type / tag thing is explained in one of two ways; Johnny got a bone marrow transplant, OR... those dog tags aren't his, but a buddy who died when they were fighting in the South American wars. There's hints in the dialog where Johnny talks about the tags that the latter is the case. And Maximum Mike is Mike Stackpole, the man who created Cyberpunk 2013, 2020, and built the entire world. So this is basically GM speaking to the players with a touch of breaking the fourth wall. The "aliens" they're talking about are the AI's floating in the net, with the two biggest ones being the Bartmoss Collective and Alt Cunningham. The whole Adam Smasher knowing you were there at Konpeki Plaza isn't true as you said in the video. Coming from a AI Pathing background, the first few steps of getting a Boss Level Enemy or any NPC Target to track the Player is by creating visual aids such as "View Cones" or even in some cases Audio Cues. Boss Enemy's tend to have larger View Cones that are usually the size of thier respective Arena you're fighting them in. My point of view is that, the Adam Smasher you see at Konpeki is just the finalised Boss Version for the endings of the game. The Smasher we see at Konpeki was added to the scene either due to the project constraints that CD Projekt RED had during production which could have halted the animation team on making a separate Rig for Adam but instead just used the Boss Version or the story was altered to add Smasher to the scene as a finalisation to the story. Such a cop out to call it a conspiracy of hate. The game was hated because it built massive amounts of hype and then massively underdelivered. Even ignoring the bugs (which is a major problem) the game is still missing a ton of promised content, and content that clearly should be in the game but isn't. I love the characters and story as much as anyone, but there is a lot of stuff missing. When literally every single car ride with someone is 2 mins of conversation followed by 10 mins of silence, that's a huge failure. A lot of the conversations feel like they are 2 or 3 different conversations spliced together, which they probably were. You can love the game in spite of the failures, absolutely. New Vegas is one of my favorite games, and it has a lot of failures in it. However pretending people are tricked into hating cyberpunk is just insane.
@SUBLIME2841

Oath, I was having this conversation with a friend not long ago and I was saying that even though there are STILL bugs (which some people STILL don't seem to want to believe) if you look past that you have a middling game with half baked rpg mechanics, NPC AI that is not there and shitloads of cut content. The story is fine but not near enough to keep me entertained. There's no conspiracy to hate cyberpunk, it just isn't very good.

It is not even funny how bad this game has been treated. Even if some of the criticism is justified I feel like most of the hate is just irrational. @castlewhale4746

@@nextgenstatus You can criticize the game for not living up to its' full potential sure, you can criticize it for not living up to CDPR's extremely ambitious vision, and you can criticize it for being hyped up too much and then releasing early in an unfinished state. These are all valid criticisms. However, this does not mean the game we actually DO have is by any means a bad game. Just because it is not the game everyone and their mother expected it to be, doesn't mean the actual product we have is not a great experience that explores many interesting concepts. I went into Cyberpunk with absolutely no expectations. I refused to board the hype train, I didn't sit on reddit every day since the original trailer nearly a decade ago reading about all the insane features it would supposedly have and how it would be the best game of all time. Instead I watched a couple of the trailers, bought the game on release day, and played for about 150 hours on release patch. I had a fantastic time with Cyberpunk, it's easily one of my favorite games, and it only keeps getting better with further patches and mods. I've put about 50 hours in on the current patch with about 20 mods and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. Night City is one of the most impressive maps in gaming and it absolutely sucks me in anytime I load the game up. So many people only look at the game that could have been and end up disappointed, rather than looking at what we actually do have. If CDPR could just finally release some actual modding tools this game has the potential to become the next Skyrim of the modding scene and then some. Skyrim has some incredible mods and the longer the game is out the more impressive they get. Imagine how Cyberpunk could look 5 years from now, with some DLC and especially mods that go beyond the simple changes and model swaps we currently have. The fact that character lip syncing is generated automatically based on audio leaves LIMITLESS potential for modders to add new quests once we actually have the tools available to do so. I wouldn't be surprised if there ended up eventually being entirely fan made alternate main stories.

@@TeddyBearAssassin And it only took modders a month or so to fix that for them with no proper modding tools. It doesn't really matter what CDPR does with the game at this point so long as they do release proper modding tools. Wolvenkit is currently a nightmare to work with and trying to find a proper tutorial for it is like trying to find water in a desert. Though their word doesn't really mean all that much anymore, they have said there are plans to put out actual proper modding tools and from what I've read they even hired some modders to help with this goal. It's the modding community, that's where the future of this game is, not the game studio that took a year to put out any substantial changes. Just like Skyrim is the perfect base to build from for any sort of fantasy related mod, Cyberpunk is the perfect canvas for modders to make their own.

Good iceberg, very much enjoyed. But for the ending, I was not lied to about the release of this game. It was a broken mess. I played it a few days after release because I had it shipped to me because the copy I got had extra goodies that I wanted to have, and I figured my ps4 could run it better than my pc. I was hyped for this game. But I literally couldn’t play it after the heist. It was broken. It was embarrassing. The backlash was deserved. We was told many times that they wouldn’t release it until it was ready. It wasn’t ready. The foundation was good but what’s the point when the floor you stand on to explore the building they made just fell out from under you. The game is in a much better state now because it got the time it needed, and there are still problems to this day. The biggest conspiracy isn’t the reviews, it’s the higher ups that made them release the game. They knew it would sell and it did. It wasn’t a flop because the hype was too strong, and they knew that. Reviews was just telling everyone that the game was a mess and to wait. Now people can actually play the game and not have cutscenes t pose on them or the camera break so you’re having an out of body experience, or not have your genitalia clip through your clothes, banning streamers for nudity.

As far as the FF:06:B5 hex color, I do have the theory that it's meant to represent nothingness, as the color magenta doesn't technically exist. It lies between blue and red, which is a light frequency that can't exist as they exist at opposite ends of the light spectrum. There's also the idea of the pursuit of nirvana in Buddhism, which in some places is seen as the idea of achieving nothingness as breaking the cycle of human suffering.
