I like the bit where Sian said "How have you managed to go on so Long"? JJ replied " TALENT!"...Fuckin Damn Right! I got my first Stranglers record in `78..and i`m sitting tryping this out...In my Stranglers tshirt! `Kin Superb Band....and a great interview by someone who obviously dug them as well.

Sian Williams is a Stranglers fan?! Way to be cool! Just saw them in Dunfermline Friday night -- excellent stuff! Still got it (just like Sian :-) )

In my opinion, The Stranglers are without a doubt the best punk rock band (they're also new wave) to have ever existed.

They were. Current lead “singer” and guitarist “Baz” would be an embarrassment at a working men’s club karaoke night. The Stranglers had to fall a long way for him to climb on board.

Such an overlooked band, its mad. They were never the stadium type band just making a big noise like Bon Jovi...They just did what they wanted to do and in their own unique way. I'll never forget the first ever time i heard the Stranglers, i was away on annual camp with the scouts years ago in about 2001 we were beside this big beautiful lake and loads of trees, and i heard of course, Golden Brown and it just stuck with me, the sunshine, the good times and then only a few years ago, i actually started listening to their other stuff, and i couldn't believe the amount of other good songs they made and that's why you can't judge a book by the cover because once you listen to their other music you'll see they have loads of other good songs apart from Golden Brown. I saw them at Oxegen festival in 2010 or 11, can't remember but it was great, i was dancing my arse off and i was near the front and JJ just looked right at me, he could see i was enjoying it haha. They're one of my favorite bands ever, they're just the best. I wish Hugh had of stayed with them, but ah well, shit happens, and in a way i'm kind of glad most people don't listen to them.

Much better when they were young. Now it's all pot bellies and grey hair. The old videos from the 70s with JJ and his dark hair and piercing eyes are irreplaceable.

The guys at last getting the recognition they deserve. Sian couldn't keep her hands off JJ. Heard Giants yesterday and like the 70's Doors feel to a lot of it. Great album.

The Stranglers are the most accessible band to come from the punk new wave era ,,,pop girls liked them ,old hippies liked them ,,,heavy rockers liked them ,,,every household should have a Stranglers album of some kind ,,,for new comers id recommend the Peaches best of ,,,,then buy the first six albums

'Nuffield respect to Sian Williams, who saw them at their creative peak as a 12-yr old! No mention of ol' Hugh but it has been 22 years... Nice little interview that.

So modest, and Baz really suits them unlike that clown they got after Hugh. Never forget the first time i heard them, such an interesting band, The Stranglers for life.

IrishBard He has to be modest, with his “singing” ability. The Stranglers ceased to be after 1990. The front men after Hugh have been dire, your “Baz” in particular. Pretty embarrassing, and that’s the best I can say about him.

Sian missed a golden opportunity there - "What's my future?" asked JJ, she should have replied - "I see you going on a sell-out stadium world tour with a long estranged bandmate returning for one last great hurrah!" OK, I know it will never happen, but we can all dream.

Nahh, she couldn't 'ave been 12 at that 1978 show, coz she's was born 1964, so she must 'ave been 'round 14, so what she's saying is complete bollox.
