The roller coaster on the Stratosphere was called “High Roller” (which is now the name of the Vegas Ferris wheel), I rode it once, and it was a terrible roller coaster. Because it was mounted on a building, in a very limited space, it didn’t have any steep climbs or dips (ironic for something so high up) and it didn’t go very fast. Like myself, quite a few ride enthusiasts rode it just so they could say they did (it was technically the world’s highest coaster), but few people went on it more than once. I believe it was also hard to maintain.

Vegas is such a debauchery city of filth and it’s expensive. I have to go there for my work more often than I want to and I don’t enjoy it at all. I do like the station casinos, however, such as Red Rocks and Sante Fe, there are many others. Reasonable food and if you like to gamble the slots pay more. But downtown Fremont street is a filthy place and the main strip is over the top and overpriced

I lived in Vegas in the late 90's. The rollercoaster used to literally have nuts and bolts fall off of it and hit the ground below. I'm pretty sure that's why they got rid of it. That's terrifying that someone could just walk into your hotel room like that. They should have comped your room.

I know everyone else has probably already said it along with Peppermill, but the unquestioned legend of Las Vegas dining is Lotus of Siam on Sahara Ave. COVID sucks, but it means it is the first time in memory you can actually get a reservation there without too much trouble. If you look on Google Maps, you can see where the track and supports from Speed The Ride, Sahara Hotel/Casino's old coaster, are lying across the street from Mandalay Bay where the McDonald's is at. That's also pretty close to the festival site where the shooting took place a couple of years back, and of course you've got Mandalay Bay's aquarium to visit while over there. I assume you're stopping by the Pinball Hall of Fame on Tropicana (which is struggling and needs the business/PR) and heading to Primm to see the Bonnie and Clyde Death Car, right?

As we were at the desk he called down and I heard the desk clerk profusely apologizing. She got off the phone with him and told us apparently, this was the 2nd time today that someone else was assigned his room while he was in there.
