@@ShehanB-hd4lp I wonder who is drawing the strawman here 😀

@@ShehanB-hd4lp Not sure what's your beef with him, clearly I don't have any with either of you. Just commented on his communication skills, and apriciated his effort to share knowledge. I think it's better than sharing hatred or nonsensical garbage.

@@ShehanB-hd4lp There were occasions (in other videos) I had disagreement, and I commented on those too. Different people different views (that's what buddha said). So we cannot expect others to act the way we like them to be. Everybody has the freedom and right to act on their own consciousness. This specific video doesn't focus on Buddhism or any related topics; instead, it presents a well-articulated hypothesis on argumentation and debate prevalent in Western intellectual traditions. I don't classify individuals based on their past but rather consider their present actions and behaviors.

@@ShehanB-hd4lp It would be constructive to argue objectively and with a clear focus, in this case the strawman video he released. If you have a broader disagreement, it's best to take it to another platform, or better yet talk to him. Conflicts can be beautifully resolved that way. On this particular video, I would love to hear your educated opinion on the strawman fallacy specially to point-out "flawed arguments" as you say presented here. Otherwise, all you say upto now is typical of "strawman fallacy" itself, if you ask me 😉

@@ShehanB-hd4lp I agree with you on your statement "significant impact Ruchira's actions have on a broad community given his substantial following of almost 400k subscribers", specially considering this particularly video. Now 400k would know how to identify a "strawman" when one tries to pull one up. I would consider this as a betterment to to the community, don't you think?
Fallacy Type > Description | Strength of Damage to Original Argument 1. Straw Man > Misrepresenting an opponent's argument to make it easier to attack a weakened version. | Moderate 2. Ad Hominem > Attacking the character or personal traits of the arguer instead of the argument. | Low 3. Ad Hominem Tu Quoque > Accusing the opponent of hypocrisy to dismiss their argument. | Low 4. Appeal to Authority >Relying on the testimony of an authority figure instead of the strength of the argument. |Low 5. Appeal to Ignorance >Arguing that a claim is true because it hasn't been proven false, or vice versa. |Low 6. Circular Reasoning >Using the conclusion of an argument as a premise, often without providing real evidence. |High 7. False Dichotomy >Presents an argument as if there are only two possible options when there are more. |Low 8. Hasty Generalization >Drawing a conclusion based on insufficient or biased evidence. |Moderate 9. Red Herring > Diverting attention from the real issue by introducing an unrelated topic. |Low 10. Slippery Slope >Arguing that a small first step will lead to a chain of events with catastrophic results. |Moderate 11. Appeal to Emotion >Manipulating emotions to persuade instead of using logical reasoning. |Low 12. Straw Man Fallacy >Creating a fabricated or exaggerated argument to misrepresent and attack the opponent. |High
