Fully inflated all terrain tires are the worst thing you can use in the sand. You want to be floating on top of the sand not digging into it.

Put a Detroit locker on the rear of that Chevy and air it down to 10psi and it'll go everywhere. My buddy Matt goes places most 4wd go in his Chevy with a full time rear locker.

A lot of those trucks (including mine) already have G80 lockers in the rear, they automatically engage. Wouldn’t front lockers be better? What do you think? I’ve been thinking of putting some front lockers on mine.

@@aldomagana8 I had a g80 for a long time and it worked well. If you have the ability to put a part time locker in the front then that is always a nice feature. If you air down properly, probably not needed. Mine has independent front suspension, so no front locker for me unless I do a straight Axle swap. Even still, the Detroit in the rear should be plenty for 95 percent of the time

This is hilarious we used to take a 2wd Ford ranger to the sand all the time in AZ you just need to air down and have a driver mod

How to drive a RWD on sand: don’t. Might be possible here and there but you’ll most likely just get stuck. Air down with 4x4, otherwise just avoid the deep sand.

The scary part is that these are supposed to be fishermen and yet nobody’s tires are aired down.

@@HomersPulloutGame I was there last year with just my girlfriend. I have a 4x2 tundra, all I did was air down my tires and I was good to go. I guess half the game is knowing how to drive thru soft sand

A 2wd going anywhere but pavement is where brain cells are lost. Doesn’t matter what you do to the truck is can not go places a 4wd can go because once that axel is tractioned out it has nothing else to bite and pull like a front axle can on a 4wd

2wd trucks have a purpose... just dont go off road. I own a 2wd ram 5.7 and I have lots of fun with it just not in terrain that doesnt work with it. Simple math dont be stupid. But I can tow more than a fwd and bust that ass on the highway lol

2wd can tow much more, are faster, better fuel economy... I have a 4x2 tundra and I can get places that 4x4 folks get in. knowing how to drive the terrain is just as important.... imo all you cant do really is rock crawl
