Good explanation! only problem though is that you tribute it all to Socrates when it's Plato.

Plato wrote the dialogue, but it's Socrates's concept

Socrates gave Plato pretty much all his ideas, he just didn’t write them down like Plato.

This helped a lot for me. I read the allegories as a concluding chapter to my hard copy of The Symposium, but after reading it all in one go I felt a bit dizzied by all the analogies. I wasn't exactly sure where he was heading and why he picked certain analogies. Now I do much better!

Thank you so much for this visual representation because I'm a visual learner so just reading about these abstract concepts doesn't help my brain to make much sense of it but your visual presentation did. Thanks again!

Want to have preception of reality blown away? Look up Rodney Sweregen's lecture on the mundane geometry of Plato's Divided Line. That there? Is Plato using Thale's Theorm to make Isoceles triangels. It's everything you've said (good job btw). But you can prove it using geometry. 🤣 Which is what Plato uses for logic. I think the reason teachers shy away from that. Is because they don't want to get associated the "sacred geometry" crowd. Which i don't blame them. But still. If you follow it all the way through. It will give you correct understanding of Plato's logic and a new apperciation of arithmetic and geometry. Not only that? You can take the quantum mechanics formula in physics. Psi = imaginery number squared plus real number 1. And omfg. Ohhhhh that shit is not funny. Basically there's a "Form" Demension ie "Time" (from Enstien's General Reativity) That surrounds us but can barley be percieved with the 5 senses. 🤣😭😂 . Another words? Is Plato's divided line the missing link in between quantum physics and general relativity? The only way to sceintifically test that. Would be to divise a physics experiment where you could communicate information faster than the obbserved two way C² speed of light. (We don't know what the one way C speed of light is. We just assume it's C². But hey we're philosophers not scientists right?) And if you could do that? That would be the first step to building a "warp" drive and getting off this planet in a human lifetime. But then again. 🤔 You allready like everyone else can sense every now and again when something is going to happen. 🤣 Oh well one can dream. Lol Least the idea would make a great science fiction novel. "No statement is too absurd. That a philosopher won't say it." -Marcus Tullius Cicero.

You've got the line wrong. If you just follow the directions closely you'll end up with the golden mean or golden proportion. You're focusing on the narrative rather than trusting the geometry. Mathematics, including geometry, are apriori after all.

I like to believe that A-C (Intelligence) is the axioms. This encompasses all of Mathematics (In a mind that can encompass truth, Mathematics is the axiom of life) ... after which, C-D (Reasoning) is the application of said axioms to images/pattern/cause&effect. The purity of absolute truth is diluted in an attempt to explain life, thus science.

He kept saying Socrates but I reckon the allegory of the cave was a work of Plato. 🤔
