Right on!! I first heard this gem in the late 1970's when I was in the Army and stationed in Hawaii. Shortly after I arrived there, an oldies station came on the air (KPOI-AM 1040) and I began to hear other such songs for the first time. I was just a kid in the 1960's and had some memory of tunes like "Downtown," "Lazy Day," and "Up, up and Away," but don't recall hearing any such as this one. Of course, that probably wasn't unusual because I grew up in the upper Midwest. How that would change in the ensuing years after my time in Hawaii. I became an oldies fan not long after discovering KPOI and I remain one to this day. I don't know of any acts today who could come close to matching what the groups of the 1950's and 1960's gave us with doo-wop, folk, surf music and the British invasion sound. Fortunately, I live in a town where they still have one of those good, old-fashioned AM radio stations on the air and they routinely play songs like this.
