I liked the design. But the execution was poor. All content has intent. She had no backstory; she was just a villain that was using a seemingly noble cause and morality to commit crimes for her own self aggrandisement. The fact this was tied to feminism in particular was intentional. White patriarchy always seeks to label its critics, especially women, as evil, over emotional, and immoral for calling out injustice. The low media literacy of Americans means that people see portrayals like these and immediately think that all feminists lack moral values and are grifters who only want to harm men and are not seeking equality.
@KcoolCkat
2 ай бұрын
Imo, if this portrayal shows that all feminists lack morality, then why did Miss Bellum and the teacher approach the girls instead of the professor? In real life, there is a funny phrase called "gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss" which some people takes it too literally and hurts others. The episode tells us that actual feminism is when you treat EVERYONE equally and empower women and others WITHOUT putting them down unlike Femme Fatale did to others by breaking their bank accounts and arms. @@moongoddessjuno

@@DangerDan64 It may come from ignorance to some extent, but words tend to have certain connotations to them that aren't necessarily in their core meaning. For example, the word "sex" (intercourse) tends to connote "pleasure", and that's typically what people think of when they hear that word, even though it's not directly part of its meaning. In the case of the word "feminism", as it's used today, it tends to connote "misandry" since that's what it often entails in many contexts. How can you watch the entire series in a few minutes? The average segment is 11 minutes. It would take weeks to finish the series.

No. The whole thing of women hating men or seeing them as less is mostly a lie made by social media, since misandric women often get a lot of attention as it's an "engaging" content. Most feminists are still about equality, but the rational voices often get drowned by the noise

A few major problems with that episode: Not enough consequences for the Powerpuff Girls actions and no on-screen apology to all the boys the Girls bullied, nor them getting grounded by the professor as punishment for bullying and letting Fatale get away with her crimes, not even a lesson about equal rights & equal consequences taught in school following Fatale's arrest. Plus the writer of that episode, Lauren Faust, admittedly regretted writing this episode.
