Thanks, this video was useful. I am adding a ceiling fan/light in my home office, which is attached to my bedroom. The person I talked to at the switch help desk for my new combo fan/light switch told me I should add a new circuit rather than tapping into the power from a source in the attic. I'm trying to figure out if one of the unlabeled breakers (20 amp) in my panel might be free, or how I can determine if any of my breakers have additional "room" to add a device like a ceiling fan/light. Is there an easy way to determine what receptacles/switches are controlled by a specific breaker ? Do you think I should hire a very expensive electrician to run a new 12/3 line for my ceiling fan and have it be the only device on the breaker?

The "easy way" is to do actual testing. Have a helper at the panel, and after they turn off a breaker for you, test all the nearby switches and any suspected receptacles (with a light bulb). It has taken me a while, but through trial and error, I now have labeled most of my house's breakers on individual index cards, and it's incredibly handy. Chances are, you'll find a breaker that's only powering a few things. If not, you could consider sacrificing something unused in exchange.
