I know you focus on the art of capturing ideas, learning from what's captured... but in case you're unaware, you're a pretty awesome motivational speaker, at least partly because you have the knack, an illuminating positive approach... you encourage, enable folks to be inspired to take action to find their own treasures... really generous, thank you! Keep up the awesome work... here's to you finding the most awesome success you want to see for yourself!

Great summary. I'd say that the purpose of note taking is organizing information across time. Notes are a review and making sense tool that can be shaped to form new products.

It's uncanny: this very morning I had an epiphany moment. I had pivoted over from Notion to Obsidian in June; I'd previously gotten keenly into Notion since I entered the rabbit-hole of the 'productivity' space on KZitem. At first I armed myself with some really good tools and overall I appreciate the experience. But at that pivot point something unsettled me that I couldn't put a formed concept to, until I decided to look up 'toxic productivity' today. Lo and behold, 8 hours later your video drops and it briefly mentions the topic. It's been the subject of my latest Obsidian note!

Your videos always get me pumped for making notes. My only problem currently is how many notes I have that I've forgotten about since I never review the notes I make. Maps of content help me keep track of them and Obsidian is great for locating old ideas but still.

It's just a lot, this information stuff, but having a reason to dust off old stuff is usually helpful in narrowing the scope

I'd be lost without my notes. Thanks for validating how important they are in this age of "toxic productivity".

Great one - Thanks. I was thinking of a fourth reason to make notes: To be more productive.... Or is productivity the product of learning, remembering and creating?

4th reason I take notes - stay focused and engaged in listening.

Nice, and why is that important?

Good point. I guess staying focused is a means to the end of learning and remembering. 🤔 That often isn't what is consciously on my mind though and my note taking fills the same role as a fidget toy or clicking a pen. Just a more professional looking and useful version!

Awesome video Nick. Hilarious and Inspirational at the same time. I have a question. Have you tried the plugin DataLoom? And can you do a tutorial for us in the future, Thanks.
