Joel Hemphill has written so many wonderful songs! He's one of the most prolific, talented writers of our generation. He's a great preacher too. He was very sick for a few years but God healed him, and though he's up in age now he's still serving God. A wonderful man.

Agree with all that has been said but Joel's wife, LaBreeska was a trained singer. She had a beautiful voice. The only time I heard her sing was on the "The Tabernacle Homecoming"

What is being said about the writer of this song is not true and is not a "mad man." Take a look at your own self before judging some one else. It is just a rumor. Rant over.

The Sweetest Words He Ever Said 1. Like the woman brought to Jesus, who was taken in her sin, I was so ashamed of what I'd done and where I'd been. Well, justice called for payments that were more than I could give, When mercy smiled upon me, saying, "I forgive." CHORUS: Oh, the sweetest words He ever said were "I forgive" Death's sentence then was wiped away, and I could live, Well, I like the part where He told about the mansions He would give, But the sweetest words He ever said, were "I forgive." 2. Now, if you're tired of living with the wrongs that you have done, Come on home to Jesus, you know He's the cleansing one. In His arms He'll hold you, and you've just begun to live, When you hear Him gently whisper, "I forgive."

Its good for you to have an opinion "Brother" Skinner but I would be careful about casting stones when you can't see a man's heart.

Great song and great arrangement, but did anyone else notice that the sound people were messing with the mix at several points during the song? Isn't that what a rehearsal is for?

Horrible news that the writer of this song now has denounced the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. He now is on a mission to destroy the Gospel.

Justin McLeod Yes Justin, he probably did. Somewhere later in his ministry he really took a turn away from the True Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Now he is on a "mission" to destroy what he once worked on building up. A "spiritual mad man" is what he has become.

John P apparently he has started teaching that the father is the only true God from John 17v3 and that there is one God and one mediator between God and men the man Christ Jesus from 1st Tim. and for us there is one God the father and one Lord Jesus Christ from 1 Cor 8v6 and one God and father of all from Ephesians. Isn't that terrible
