Graffiti artist Daniël van de Haterd already has some fame with his murals in and around Amersfoort, which he creates under the name 13HOOG. In recent years, Daniël has been busy in his studio where he has focused on creating abstract modern art that always has a link to his past as a graffiti artist.
His new series of works is collected under the name "The Swipe".
We swipe left and right every day, sometimes in an app like Tinder, sometimes in the supermarket between two almost identical products.
His new work has a certain speed, is expressive and fueled by color.
His art is often inspired by a feeling or an emotion and is clearly innovative.
With large brushes and sponges he has managed to create a link between a graffiti tag, which is actually a quick signature of a graffiti artist, and a very strong, fast but impressive swipe with which he fills a canvas in one go.
In this short film the artist talks about the process and his thoughts.
The exhibition of this series takes place in his studio on Tesselschadelaan 4 in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.
You can visit the exhibition on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 november from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The opening is on Friday, november 24 from 4:00 PM.
