Man, those two look like they'd be a riot to go out and have a drink with. Craig and his high spirited joking and light demeanor; Phil with his more professional but light hearted undertones. I'd love to meet these two guys in person, I met Tim Cook when he went to the Apple Store in Salt Lake City and loved meeting him. Maybe someday I'll be able to at least say hi to one of these amazing gentlemen.

Yes, this was a feature introduced with iOS 9 on iPhone 6S, I believe. I believe the initial setup process on iPhone offers this option when you agree to use Siri on your device - where Siri can be set up to only respond to your voice. It works quite well. My wife and I both have iPhones (I have 6S and she has 7), and we both say Hey Siri to our devices. Since setting it up, not once has it summoned Siri on her device, nor vice versa on mine, even when both phones are right next to each other. I don’t know why it’s such an issue for so many people when the phrase “Hey Siri” is said in a video or podcast and it launches Siri on their phone - the masses must REALLY not be aware of this feature, because such a thing is really not an issue... or, at least it shouldn’t be! Nobody with a reasonably recent iPhone should have to worry about someone else summoning Siri on their phone.

Apple's male employee dress code: Long sleeve dress shirt, blue jeans, sneakers. How to wear? Roll up shirt sleeve about 2, 3 cuffs. NEVER EVER tuck in your shirt even though it's dress shirt. Here your Apple's employee attire. They don't normally wear short sleeve dark gray t-shirt like the rest of the tech companies' employees do in Silicon Valley.

I am really happy to see them sit down and put a human touch to the Apple brand. Especially Phill because he was with Steve since his return and he probably got motivated by Steve in his career. People who had been with Steve starting to share more and more stories or adventures. Check out this one for example -> "kzitem.info/news/bejne/2ppnnZuOon6IhJw"

Why cant i use horizontal split screen in portrait mode on the iPad?. Now that would have been a nice feature. Now it looks ridiculous when using it in portrait mode because it splits vertical.
@Mistygio
5 жыл бұрын
apie74 has to do with the way apps are optimized. Everything would be squished from top to bottom in a weird way if they did that. Currently, you get an iPhone optimized version of the app pop up on the side. And when turning iPad sideways, you get two iPad Mini apps. But having it the way you are asking for is a format that isn’t going to get much support from developers. There is no iOS device that is the shape of the top half of iPad’s display (in portrait orientation). The reason why iPhone doesn’t have split screen apps in the first place is so that developers can focus on making the best full screen apps they can possibly make. And not worry too much about formatting for different screen sizes. That way, the app is exactly the way the developers intended it to be. On the other hand, developers for Android apps are sloppy on purpose, knowing they are developing one app for dozens and dozens of screen shapes and sizes. iOS is one canvas, what they make is what all users sees. So they put all their efforts into making the best app possible on iOS. It’s the reason why iPads now present iPhone apps on the side. It’s a version that was already intentionally created by the developer.

@@mehedihasanhridoy1701 No Cook is a straight logistics and operational guy. And he is extremely good at it. I don’t think he is that good as the face of the company. This is where I think Craig would flourish. He already leads a lot of their presentations. If they put Tim In charge of operations and logistics and Craig as CEO to be the face of Apple and to lead product dev it would work out great. Also I should note that you can just tell Craig is more “Apple” than Tim is. If that makes sense. Craig live and breaths and loves the product. Something Steve was well known for. Apple needs a CEO that is a product person. Tim is not that guy. I get the sense that Tim couldn’t care less about the products that Apple sells.

I couldn't help but notice that Phil and Craig appeared somewhat embarrassed during this interview. It's almost like' they were asked to defend; the indefensible. As an Apple consumer since 1983, I no longer wave the Apple banner or recommend the brand like I used to. Many of their decisions in the past 3-years seem foolish or ill-conceived, but certainly not courageous. Hopefully, the Board of Directors we'll eventually do the right thing. BTW: Is it just me, or do some of you also believe those in the audience that whoop on cue, is a bit too convenient? I'm hard pressed to think this would happen so often in a single presentation, and on topics that are seemingly unremarkable. The pattern and cadence to the 'whoopers' remind me of laugh tracks during the filming of old sitcoms of the 70's.
