Ain't that the truth -- my friends and I bought every 45 and then albums -- especially Motown's greatest hits -- we played it so much we wore them out and had to buy replacements -- and as soon as the new mastered versions came out on cd, we were first in line to buy it -- best music ever -- no offense to any other genre and musicians -- I will always immediately recognize that bass riff at the beginning of my girl, and my fingers start to snap on their own, and I can't help but dance --

It's impossible for me to agree with you more -- I've been binge-watching Call the Midwife, and each season is progressing to the next year, and now they are in the 60's and playing all of that wonderful music -- it is so difficult to say which music is the best -- I mean, even today there are phenomenal singers -- Adam Lambert -- I am 64 and grew up in a small southern rural college town, and music was everywhere -- even at ages 4 and beyond I remember the great great music of this generation -- I'm 64 now, and I still and always will, snap my fingers to "My Girl" -- for me, best song ever -- always makes me happy in every phase of my life -- I don't drive much anymore which is where I usually listened to music, but my new year's goal is to bring music into my life again -- and it's all here on youtube, for which I am so grateful. I began thinking for the new year, what would happen if we just changed our thoughts away from all the negativity of the past year, realized every single life, from blades of grass to beautiful newborns and even those who forgot they are worthy and loved and turned to crime, all are loved and precious -- I don't ask anyone else in the world to share my beliefs, because at age 64 I realized by this time in my life I'd better know where I stand, and that everyone has to come to their own understanding -- but all lives matter -- I think the earth is trying to heal herself -- I don't think the earth launched covid; I don't mean it that way -- but is taking the opportunity to clear the air, heal the atmosphere -- the huge and every expanding hole over Australia almost completely closed -- I honestly hope this next year will be remembered in your life, and the lives of all you love and care about, will be as one of the happiest in your life -- also, a little trivia about "My Girl" -- it is the first song in history that began with the unmistakable bass run at the beginning. They were in the studio now moved from Detroit to LA, and the bass player said (paraphrasing), I've been working on this, and he played it and they all "lost their minds" - ha -- what we'd say in like the 6th and 7th grade -- there's a video somewhere here on youtube of that moment -- and it changed the way music was produced away from the guitar riffs into integrating all instruments -- that song did so much more than just have a great beat and words, but literally changed the face of modern music -- Motown will always be the best music ever -- my best friend's father was the defensive football coach at the local university, and after home football games they would have parties in the fraternity houses, and there was this great local band that played all that great music -- they had a brass section -- it was one guy, but he played several instruments -- and we were in like 8th and 9th grade and we go to the parties like we were old enough to be there -- I just remember as we got older and would dance with everyone else, and then we drank the pink lemonade in the trashcans -- OMG !! -- it was not lemonade, but we still had fun == so sorry for the long long response -- best wishes, Patricia

Music will always be music. Real black pop music has been deliberately destroyed. Population control one might say, the Temps sang about love and life. The modern-day rap music that our children listen to glorify materialism, violence, misogyny and death.

UNFORTUNATELY WE CROSSED PATHS WHEN HE LOST HIS BROTHER, THEN HIS GRANDMOTHER & BUT THE FIRST TIME HE SEEN ME WAS WHEN HE LOST HIS, MOTHER. He tells me the story and all the time about when he seen me and asked his friends who I was. He said to himself that whoever I was with was a very lucky man...
