It always bugged me that people watch the TV movie, then see videos of the Temptations and say "Oh damn Otis can sing!" Well if he couldn't sing, Berry Gordy would've never signed him in the first place. You needed true singing talent back then. And the movie completely leaves out how Paul was in constant excruciating pain from sickle cell anemia hence why he didn't look his greatest towards the end of his tenure with the group and focused solely on his alcoholism.

I think we don’t give enough credit to Otis as a singer, leads of course but especially when he harmonizes. It’s distinct here.
Sorry...Hope Floats the movie brought me here!! Incredible!!

This particular video made me wonder how tall these guys were -- they sure look tall! Eddie was the shortest at just over 6' and Dennis was 6'5". Found one rumor they had a height requirement, as a short guy would throw off the choreography! Not sure if it's true but they sure fit their nickname of the "Tall", Tan, Tempting Temptations!

Ima be honest their ability to blend in 5 part harmony, Otis, Blue, Paul, Eddie then Dennis and David sans the leads like each one could lead a song if they chose to but for one I hate how the game and egos kind of made the original 5 for their separate ways
@A_Pa-Plainjane
Жыл бұрын
the music business makes everyone crazy- the way the Temps could blend their 5 unique voices together added up to a perfection that I do not think anyone else has quite equaled. It is a shame because they created a little heaven on earth with their performing.
