But rock humans don't actually love anyone, it is stated in the manga that every relationship (loving, friends, family) they have are "give and take" types of relationship, rock humans don't perceive love like normal humans, because for them emotions and affection don't matter, what matter are memories and actions. Dolomite was pretty chill because even though he suffered in the past, the memories he gained was enough for him to live peacefully and with peace of mind, a contrast to a normal human, which would have a great difficulty to consider their past life suffice, but as soon as Dolomite discovered that he can be normal again, which means gain more memories as he would be more acceptable in society, his actions turned to be merciless, not caring for whom he has to kill (men, women, elderlies and babies).

Rock humans break up 97.5% of the time, and if a relationship last it's most certainly a loveless relationship. By nature, rock humans can't deal with love like humans do, they can't deal with emotions or give importance to emotions as humans do, because their existence and survival are more important than everything, emotions and feelings are most of the time viewed as pointless between them. Although you said you didn't agree with me, but the thing is that I'm not giving my opinion, I'm just saying what is written in Jojolion, mostly specificaly in chapter 46, 99 and 107.

I do really like this distinction. Fantasy stories tend to prefer the super outdated "nature > nurture" when it comes to 'evil' races, which tends to have odd implications in the story itself. Totally agree with the points. Imo tooru will be kinda like the Giorno of the Jojo main villains in which his depth is kinda subtle. I really liked how the recent chapters furthered Jojolion’s themes of motherhood and the value of the family unit. It’s like how the higashikatas were saved and brought closer together by Kaato’s actions while tooru, a ruthless psychopath focused on financial gain, was left alone and discarded with only his memories of his “mom” to comfort him. Kinda similar vampire imagery with tooru and dio too with the manipulation of younger people (i.e. yasuho and pucci) to achieve a goal while being older than they appear idk

What's also really poignant about Tooru's final vision is that it's not *just* a memory of the hornet, it's a memory of being saved as an abandoned infant. Like, his death is in many ways a parallel to his birth, and his focus on memories is a great foil to the theme of finding purpose for the sake of others, which has really been coming to a head lately. I think that Tooru is a villain with a surprising amount of actual thematic depth that people dislike because of the lack of proper "villain" theatrics and (rightfully imo) a lack of prior presence and foreshadowing. I think once people start to take Jojolion in as a whole they'll be able to better see who Tooru really is as a character, because rn I think a lot of the hate is kinda unwarranted.

I think a lot of the rock humans stands keep them in positions of power or so that they come out on top.
@Malumultimus
3 жыл бұрын
I think they're loosely based on the Pillar Men. - Yotsuyu's Stand I Am a Rock sets a precedent for the entire group, and he ends up broken into pieces in stone form and sent away to be analyzed, like Santana. - Aisho's Stand Doobie Wah! is a wind-based ability whose name is written with an unnecessary exclamation point similar to the band Wham!, reminiscent of Wham. - I think the "A." Phex Brothers and the bizarre Tamaki, with his Stand Vitamin "C" which melts people, are meant to call to mind the bizarre, heat-using ACDC. This may sound weird to have three people represent one, but I'd argue that (1) they're not meant to be literal spiritual reincarnations or anything and (2) the twins barely qualify as characters, they're just Tamaki's...tendrils. - Taking a step back, I think Araki "avoided" Cars by having him represented by Karera, who has a similar name, purple hair pouring out of a bandana and she gets Josuke's attention by blinding him with light reflected off metal (I still remember when the spoilers for her chapter's debut came out, even the Japanese community was calling her female Cars). Is she a rock human, though? I don't think we'll ever know. This is all fine and good, but I think Araki then repeated this, less obviously but more compactly, with the doctors. - Urban Guerrilla travels through the earth. - Wu Tomoki uses vents and air conditioners to blow his pieces around, as well as his name being similar (Wham, Wah, Wu). - Poor Tom is a weird baby who likes smoking, not a strong connection to ACDC, but it is interesting that his fight ends up in a blazing inferno. - Tooru's stand Wonder of U has arm blades, even though he pretty much never uses them.
@boianko
2 жыл бұрын
I think a much better comparison would be: Urban Guerilla - has a stand that melts his enemies by being injected into their bloodstream, and is named after a metal song. A weak connection to ACDC. - Doctor Wu has a stand that turns his body into a grotesque living weapon, and as you said, has scenes where he travels through vents for a surprise attack. Very similar to Santana - Poor Tom's stand uses the power of air pressure to kill his opponents - air manipulation being Wham's thing. I agree about Kars and Tooru. I doubt any of these were intentional per se, but it's fun to draw parallels either way.
@Malumultimus
2 жыл бұрын
@@boianko Some of them are for sure intentional. He didn't create two rock people by chance. Authors reference themselves all the time, and this is true for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, especially Part 7 and 8. Does it mean something? Nope. I always loved the rock humans. Battle tendency pillar men aside, they're original, interesting, and creative creatures despite being rather simple. They look just like humans but are pretty different not just physically but mentally and emotionally. For example, humans are social creatures who value relationships yet rock humans aren't. When they're born their mothers abandon them and leave them to fend for their weak and tiny selves, and when they do form relationships it's usually for personal gain. When they try to have regular human relationships it blows up in their faces, which is what happens with Aisho, Dolomite, and maybe even Tooru. Compared to regular humans they're pretty stone cold. Another is how they don't need things like land or money to survive, they're closer to nature and act as parasites in nature destroying human society. When you really think about it they feel kind of like wild animals with the appearance of humans since they live out in the open, hibernate, and can even be downright murderous in nature. With around 95% being stand users, that last part is pretty damn scary

The faction of the rock humans is a remaster and play on Part 4's Yoshikage Kira first and foremost and then a spin on the pillar men; That occurs, because this has to do with the themes of these two stories, DiU and JoJolion, which both feature the conflict between good will and ill will, since the latter is a remake. That is, of course, best exemplified in Josuke and Kira; while Josuke's own spirit is so kind that his stand itself manifest as something that can only help others, Kira is the exact opposite, being one who harms others in secret, does it for his own goals and has virtually no compassion for his victims ( also has a stand that is perfectly fitted for him to carry out his dirty deeps at an unacceptably low price). Kira is, essentially, a parasite to society. Now look at the rock humans. Same deal! Quiet, powerful, inhuman. The same situation but done differently in a very creative way, all stemming from the theme. And then, what's more terrifying that a sociopathic serial killer with a stand? A race of them that is biologically incapable of being humane that lives for an insane amount of time and almost always develops stand abilities. TL;DR rock humans share Kira's own core negative characteristic to serve as a laughing stock of a recycled theme from 22 years ago. Don't even get me started on how this ties into Jojolion's larger narrative about family, legacy and motherhood..

After listening to I am a Rock for the first time, I actually understand Rock Humans better. I believe this part is about relationships between mothers and sons, while Part 6 was about fathers and daughters.

I think that in jojo lands there should be a character, that would be fully human, but a psycopath worse than any rock humans, one that will inject on them the fear of the worst human nature, in the words of akiman "When motivated by greed or ambition and motivated by malice, no monster can compare to how terrifying humans can be" Also watch ANIMATION EXCELLENCE: B.B. Hood from SugarPunch Design Works, it uses that phrase on a character that shows this concept.

in part 2 pillar mens are said to NOT be like asidisi kars and wamu, thoses 3 (+ santana?) have used stone masks on themselve to enhance their bodies, so rock humans doesn't have to be like the pillar mens to be the same race

If Araki implies Dio as a rock human as well in this explanation. Than, does that make Gionno Giovanna part rock human or is not considered one?
@dogwater5499

If that is so It would probably be more like the rock humans found a way to turn people into rock humans and dio was one of them. Because giorno wasn't half vampire.

Hey I had an idea for a video. I saw a video made by another channel called Fither. It was a what if scenario on the investigation team from persona 4 versus Kira from part 4 and if they could catch him. For my scenario though, why don't we try the investigation team from persona 4 versus the head doctor and his stand Wonder of U?

Do you know the guy that Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure The rock humans since he did about the pillar men he could have werewolves I don’t know why it just seems like a good story in alternate universe or it’s like we had like a metal Glove the people can put on and it shapes them to be a werewolf you know kind of like the alternate version of the stone mask that makes vampires that be an interesting idea for the guy to make if he still alive

Kind of wish that within the rock human explanation somewhere we’d gotten more pillar men exposition. Yes the rock humans are cool and well crafted, which u demonstrated well, but the pillar men were still cooler. You can’t tell me you prefer the virgin aisho to the chad wamuu. Well you can, but I’d disagree lol
