Every M113 APC used to have one of these back in the day and they used fuel as the heating source, the most junior crew member was in charge of setting up/packing down and I remember a few times haboured up in the tussock seeing them kick the fuel can over to extinguish it and having their boots catch on fire. If I recall we used to affectionately call them a chuffer.

They are great, remember camping and fishing with my dad and one of his mates had one. I've got a slightly different designed one, stainless steel, a little squatter and has a reckon on top you can bbq on. Don't use it very often as gas is the go to these days. Handy to have around, though, in case natural disasters or whatever.

Very similar to a kelly kettle. Great for boiling water with very little fuel. 👌

Same basic idea as the Kelly Kettle. The KK is readily available, but not as beautiful.
