Even when these early talkie shorts aren't terribly good, they still fascinate.

I love Mildred Washington. She was the best and a real beauty! Talented dancer/choreographer at various nightclubs and wonderful actress, who brought sass, spunk, sex appeal, and attitude in her roles. See her in Torch Singer with Claudette Colbert. Sad she died so young.

With all the serious issues back then , lack of proper training wasn't one of them, she came back from an era where the actors, almost to an actor, were solid, all of them

Oooh I just LOVE IT! Always loved this! Large palate for such movies; thanks to my big sister who loved any and all b/w classics. On traditional classics, She always watched then it trickled down to me.. THEN, her love of Betty Davis and Joan Crawford movies became mine. With my kids.. they are so NOT like each other...my youngest when HE was younger would watch some traditional classics with me.. My older would watch some Alfred Hitchcock. And since I tend to find the "funny" in stuff that is NOT supposed to be funny.. when I would PAUSE and say.. LOOK AT THIS SCENE.. they would find the "funny" in it too..especially if I rewinded it a few times...lol But, I kept my love of "Peter Gunn" all to myself.. Going to the "hood" to get info. But he would always find a way to get JUMPED and jacked up! Thx so much for giving us the GOOD STUFF!
