When you think of all the stuff that has come down the years - the films, TV shows, records - it was the 'best', the stuff that sold the best, and was most famous. Then there was all the other stuff that sort of faded away but was just as good, just as well remembered by everyone. Yes, it was cheesy and probably hasn't really stood the test of time, but still great stuff. It does sound like Spike Milligan in this one. My late father remembered going to the pictures to see "The Case of the Muckanese Battle Horn", and being the only person in the place to laugh! I love this stuff and am grateful that people are posting it to KZitem for others to enjoy.

I uploaded this earlier this year on 78, all I could find was a small snippet that Peter Ustinov was involved but I can't find anything else to back it up or any other identities. Mark Wirtz (Theme from a teenage opera) was given as a possible pianist but he would only have been 13 at the time. I would love to know the identities myself.

I think it was your clip that got me hunting for this!. I reckon George Martin would have known, but alas it's too late to ask

I'guessing here, but the pianist sounds like Russ Conway and the voices could easily be Spike Milligan (Side 1)and Acker Bilk (beginning of Side 2).
