This franchise was among the very top games i played during the ps 2/xbox era. The amount of content was quite incredible for the time and is still impressive. The big charm with these games are the amount of variety in enemies, weapons and locations. It didn't get stale and it had some humor. Future perfect was very memorable, although TS 2 was my favorite. The undead mansion and 2052 mission are really nostalgic to me.

@@OnyxLeviathan Yes, these games also felt like video games. More reliant on a nice art style rather than graphics and was not afraid to have silly characters like a bear or a dinosaur as something playable. It was just a good time to kick back on the chair/couch and disconnect from stress.

I'm convinced TS:FP is the greatest console FPS. TS2 is also amazing, but FP really blew me away after playing alot of 2. I like to think the Timesplitters were aliens, maybe they allied with Krow knowing he was a genius and a great pawn on the promise of immortality. They are bent on human destruction and he tries to start ww3, makes a robot army to exterminate the humans, and breeds his own human-splitter hybrids.
@OnyxLeviathan

I like that take as well! Very much prefer the splitters to be aliens. And yeah, Future Perfect definitely expanded upon the game in many awesome ways. Also a lot more friendly for players to get into. Timesplitters 2 has this "cold" feeling, hard to describe.

Man.. what an absolutely.. INCREDIBLE video, from start to finish, perfect annunciation, RIGHT to the source material, and it covers EVERYTHING about what makes TimeSplitters Future Perfect one of the best games ever made, i can't get enough!! i'm actually an enormous TimeSplitters fan, and probably one of the rare cases to have ALL platinums on all 3 games consecutively, this is my favorite video game series of all time, and TimeSplitters 2 was actually one of the first, and greatest FPS games i ever played, it broadended the scope of incredible characters, ANIMATION especially with the god like perfected disney quality cutscenes, the music, the settings, the memorable dialog, every bit of it is impeccable TimeSplitters Future Perfect is easily sucha perfect game, it's literally IN the title of the game itself HAHA, and.. it blew me away the first time i ever saw it, and i actually saw the box art for the game in a bestbuy back in 2004 / 2005, and i legitimately said outloud when i saw it "They made a sequel to TimeSplitters?!? No way!" the internet back in those day's wasn't AS prevalent as it is now, so it was a little tough to find out any REAL specific gaming news n such, and because EA was a bunch of incompetent idiots; who failed to market the game properly, the notoriety for Future Perfect kinda got impacted by it, but the best part is that once the game DID come out, the legacy began to shine! the story, the gameplay, the characters, dialog, writing, the incredible start and ending to the game, the music, how BIG the game is, with map maker, challenges, unlockables, mapmaker, it just.. regardless of EA mucking about, it didn't stop the passion and drive for FRD to get the game out of the door and into gamers hands to enjoy forever, and it will ALWAYS remain as a nearly Perfect Game, i say nearly Perfect, ONLY because of abit of the RNG elements to the challenges, getting all platinums for Future Perfect was... an entirely different beast on it's own, i mean i have TimeSplitters in my blood stream but getting those platinums man.... holy cow... i'll just say that this series is so incredibly lucky i love it so much, i would have NOT done it for ANY other game, PERIOD, LOL asfar as for the future of TimeSplitters, i will ALWAYS be enthusiastically optmistic! it's my favorite game series of all time, i love it, and i will always support it, even if in the darkest of times, as TimeSplitters WILL return! and i LOVE the fact that in your review for Future Perfect here, you actually mentioned Rewind! :D and the positions that are open and the fact they are looking for help, THANK YOU for doing so!! that's a great idea to spread the word as far and wide as possible so that the future of TimeSplitters AND any future games with it, come to fruition!! incredible video, VERY entertaining, and as always, it's time to SPLIT!!~

Thanks for covering this game. I think it's the first FPS I really fell in love with. Good memories of playing this coop with my brother and designing levels using the level editor. P.S.: coke is the name of a high temperature variant of coal, hence the "coke addiction" pun on the Robot Louis Stevenson character description. His name is itself a reference to the author Robert Louis Stevenson, known for writing Treasure Island and Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde :) Edit: oh you covered this in the extra character details 😅

Point of order but the TS2 DID indicate the splitters were aliens. The character description of the drone splitters states that they were enslaved when their planet got invaded and are controlled by spinal implants. At minimum, some of the splitters have to be aliens although I guess you could really stretch it that human-created splitters invaded other planets...but that raises a lot more questions than assuming they invaded the drone splitter planet, enslaved them, and now are going after humans.
@OnyxLeviathan
Ай бұрын
Exactly! They technically would be aliens to the drone splitters (who are aliens for sure, but not technically splitters), but aren’t technically aliens to humanity. If we are going by current lore. But man do I wish they were aliens. And that last point is big. How far out did they go exactly? Also thank you for watching!

@@OnyxLeviathan It just makes so much more sense to me if they're aliens. It fits way better and I definitely think your idea about him being an alien sympathizer or traitor would have been way better. Maybe it's the nostalgia, but TS2 will always be my favorite. FP felt like it was trying to be a little too "Halo" with things like the melee or abandoning the unique aspect of TS2 time travel where he "becomes" different people when in the past. It was goofy, but had a weird logic to it. Please though, if we get new TS content, let Cpl. Hart get some screen time. Possibly the highest ratio of coolest character design to least screen time in the game. Thanks for making these videos! Really cool to see one of my childhood favorites get the attention it deserves. Best of luck with the channel since you graduated, hope to see more from you soon!
