Had to feed cows like that for almost 6 months. And the worst part of it was that I had to deal with conditions like that.

3 weeks was more than enough and of course it had to be the super cold weather!

My dad mixed feed for 200 cows woth the skidcloader for a few years in the early 90s. Dumped in one end of the feed alley, twirled and tumbled it to the other end, then pushed it up to the cows on the way back. Back then we fed out of harvestores that were right by the barn. When your feed is quite a ways away, you waste alot of time trucking a bucket full at a time

Definitely is a lot of work! Couldn’t imagine doing it for a couple years! Three weeks was enough!

That reminds me of when I was a boy. Back when Dad dairy farmed there was no mixing wagons. So he feed that way

Could you have taken the roof of one of your chopper boxes and used that for feeding?

Good idea but too tall for our skid steers to reach!

@@leuenbergerdairy6038ya your right. We had an old badger wagon but the sides were cut down. Our skid steer is smaller also. Didn’t know if you had a tractor with a loader

How come the place you took it to didn’t give you a loaner? When we had ours redone we got a loaner

They are their own company that makes very few mixers and slingers but they repair a lot of mixers for people. Didnt have any to loan out.

Don’t go to a “dealer” the place it went was a place that just repairs them and builds new mixers and some slingers but didn’t have any to rent out. At the time
