Terry, I met you way back in the 90's in Seattle. These last couple years I put my computer skills aside to deal with life issues. I am back and trying to catch up. I was asked to build a logo for someone. "Sure, I can do that!" 😱 Now I am binge watching see all that I have missed. I have been with Adobe since the 90's. Thank you so much for your content. The way you teach us is amazing. Again. Thanks.

This was so entertaining in addition to helpful. The example with the squished portraits hit home because I was the go-to guy at my government agency for designing brochures & flyers (& photos), and it upset me to no end, after making a perfect (imo) output, sending it off and seeing the final distribution with squished photos & graphics. I don’t know how they do it since all my work was sent in pdf 😆!

Help! I was watching this mostly for fun with my wife in the room. When it ended she NOW thinks I can design a poster for her group. Yikes. This was a good little overview. and I'll need to come back and more seriously watch it. And maybe even take notes. Thanks Terry

Why does some software allow squishing of photos? Is there a good reason for it because it's the most common issue I see coming into my office.

It's an old "feature" from back in the day. The idea was that you could distort an image any way you wanted for say a background. It was never intended for people and recognizable objects. So they implemented holding down the shift key to keep it proportional, instead of simply making the default always be proportional.

What can we say when a customer or colleague suggests amateur ideas (why don't you try putting that script to all caps) ? And they have a lot of annoying suggestions that degrade a project?

I would remind them that they hired you because you're the professional. While their suggestions are noted, they are not in line with your creative direction.
