I love that you've reached back several decades instead of focusing on more recent film. Thumbs up, lad.

Yes! Haven't seen nine, eight or two, but Day Of Wrath I DEFINITELY have to check out! An underrated year for movies. I do t think I have anything to add! The More The Merrier is a personal favorite, and Col Blimp is so heartbreaking. Every old person has a story.

Great list once again! Nice to finally see some Dreyer on this channel. The Passion Of Joan Of Arc, Vampyr, Day Of Wrath, Ordet and Gertrud are must-watch films for any film lover. Also love seeing Meshes Of The Afternoon here, as it's one of the greatest short films ever made. Also, it's about time I see Colonel Blimp. Cheers for another great video!

Just American film these 3 are my favorites--Shadow of a Doubt, Hangmen Also Die and I Walked with a Zombie which is actually one of my 13 all time favorite films. I still have not seen Hawks' Air Force.

Haven't seen a lot of films from 1943. But I have seen Life and Death of Colonel Blimp. Really enjoyed it. Definitely one of the more colorful films from the early 1940s. The only other films by Pressburger and Powell that I've seen are A Matter of Life and Death & A Canterbury Tale. On a side note for your 1984 list (I assume that's up next), may I recommend Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (the first Studio Ghibli film) and Threads (a pretty interesting nuclear war film). That is of course if you haven't seen them.

Seen both. Only seen the English dub of Nausicaa so feel I should watch the original dub. Love Threads (if you can love it). It's a TV film so it won't be in my list but me and some mates did a video on it a few years ago.

You picked some real great movies, but I can never do a top 10 movies of the year. It would be unfair to leave out so many great movies. Even if you picked out 50 , you still leave out great films . This is the golden age of films.
