Another great video man. I think in the comments of another video of yours someone said that your videos are making a history of film, and I completely agree. I took a bunch of film history classes in university and they were great but I don't think they ever really talked about as many movies with as much passion as you have. The love you have for movies is infectious bro. Thanks.

1977 was the first year my parents let me go to non Disney films. I was 13 and up until then my favorite films were Escape From Witch Mountain, Herbie the Love Bug and Gus (about a football playing mule with Tim Conway). So my nostalgia picks for 1977 are Close Encounters of the Third Kind The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training Smokey and the Bandit High Anxiety Star Wars Viva Knievel! My true favorite for '77 is Slapshot by George Roy Hill. The best sports movie ever.

18:40 I don't know about Williams being inspired by Holst, but I encourage you to listen to Prokofiev's suite for 'The Love for Three Oranges' and then tell me who Williams was 'inspired' by.

The film *Black Hole* also from 1977. However it repeated how space horror movies were made. Alien , in the very same year was so *bizarre* it changed cosmic horror forever. Same theme but both movies were extremely different from each other.

Jessica Harper is also in the Woody Allen's films "Love and Death" and "Stardust Memories", as well as the sequel to "The Rocky Horror Show" , which is "Shock Treatment". So yes - a very underrated actress.

I always saw the original Star Wars as a classic swashbuckler set in space. Nothing more, nothing less....then came the sequel.

I think the close encounters of the third kind is Spielberg's best film. I was lucky enough to see it in the theater when it was released and I was blown away. I was only ten or eleven years old but I was precocious enough to stay with the story all the way through.

I found 1977 to be the weakest year in movies in the 70s. Eraserhead tries too hard to be funny & weird. It's just boring. Best movies of 77 for me are Slap Shot & Looking For Mr Goodbar.

Lots of pretension going on here….. eraserhead is at best a tedious rummage through images meant to cause a reaction and nothing else. Altman is overrated and 3-woman one of his worst……. I bet the same people rate de palma who is the most over -rated director ever and his best was a remake of a French movie.
