Bang for your buck… I noticed the biggest difference after headers w/ high flow cats followed by an E85 tune. I didn’t mess with the intake manifold because I went to boost pretty quickly but from what I’ve seen myself and from others is headers and E85 are an incredible combination. If you are still interested in intake manifolds, Alejandro Flores has dyno tested all the popular intake manifolds for the coyote and they all perform similarly. Boss 302, cobra jet, and the 2018 mustang manifold are all within a few horsepower of each other. I would say do it if you can’t afford a supercharger. Then again we all know that no one stops at just two or three bolt ons. By the time you are done installing every NA mod imaginable you will be within spitting distance of a centrifugal supercharger ($7,000 to $8,000) So really think about it.

I really enjoyed your video. I have a 2014 5.0 coyote, cold air intake. But the boss intake is such a better idea. Appreciate the content. Would love any suggestions. Saving for an exhuast system (borla) at the moment.

I don't know if they have one but roush has a button that blocks the exhaust and makes it quieter your neighbors will thank you . I know Boras are really loud stage 3 roush is very loud to but its nice having the option of hushing it for a few minutes until you get out of the neighborhood.

With a ported intake (Boss 302, 18+ MGT, GT350/Bullitt/Mach1, or CJ) a 90MM TB setup.has been proven to give you some worthwhile gains, but these trucks are picky about TB's. The BBK TB is the only one I see recommended over the stock 80MM. I'm assuming it's because an 18+ F150 uses SD instead of MAF like a non-GT500 Mustang. A 87MM Bullitt TB might be a good mod for a Mustang GT, but they tend to cause low-RPM issues on the F150. BBK makes a 90MM TB that's designed to work on the F150. Really think about it, 80MM is tiny for the amount of flow that a GEN3 Coyote is capable of. That's barely bigger than a stock LS1 TB. I thought the 87MM TB on my 19 1SS 1LE was too small. If a LS1 can benefit from a 102MM TB setup then why not a Coyote whose heads flow over 300 CFM stock?

I want to throw something out there for people to understand. If you put a Mustang intake on the F150, you will lose torque. The F150 intake is designed to give you more power on the low end because 1- it’s a truck and it’s designed to pull from a dead stop and 2- the F150 engines do not pull as high of RPMs as the mustang engines. so they designed the intake to match the engine and tune. The coyote 5.0 already has problems with low torque, so I just wanted to throw that out there. People will lose power on take off. BUT, you can always put long tube headers on “for more torque” instead of Shorty headers and you could lower your gear ratio in the rear end to make up For the torque loss. That plus a good tune would set it up nicely.

If you still have $4,000 waiting to be spent you need headers, and a Y pipe. Unfortunately, Ngauge went out of business in 2022 so if you want a tune from most reliable coyote tuners (Lund, VMP, etc) you’re gonna get stuck with RTD like the rest of us. Unless you can find one used and unmarried.

I have a 2015 f150 with the 5.0 coyote and at certain temps outside it has a hesitation sitting at a stop light and sometimes just shuts off!! It does it when it’s cold out or really hot out. Someone said a vacuum leak?? It will drop below 500 rpm’s and shut off. Any ideas??

In theory it might be more expensive to put an exhaust system on a 6.5 foot bed because of the extra cost of piping needed to extend another foot.
