Just heard this today in an Uber. Loved it so much I had to look it up. I was born in 86, long after this was recorded.

A great follow up to their big hit “Lovers Concerto” - I always thought this one was also very well done.

I so love these girls. The Concerto is their masterpiece, but isn't this the wonderful companion, their colours on our fabulous 60s tapestry.

Great record - only a minor hit here in the UK [ Lover's Concerto was big ] but deserved a kinder fate - i see on the 45 Record that Bob Crewe was involved in the production - helps explain those amazing "Four Seasons" harmonies. Thanks for sharing this underrated classic.

Much more complicated than A Lover's Concerto . Barbie nailed it of course...

The lyrics are more aggressive than "Concerto" as well; they suggest a catfight between two girls over a boyfriend. And it uses another classical melody adoption as well (Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite".) It was also hard to get in true stereo once, as Bell/Dyno Voice Records made a slip up with the first pressings of the "A Lover's Concerto" album, and had it originally issued in fake electronic stereo. Bell Records later corrected things in early 1966 by using a true stereo master (as you hear here) for the second pressings of the stereo "Concerto" album.

I’ve been looking for this song for years. Heard it in my grandmas car I think around 2017 and immediately fell in love. Tried to find it all these years and no luck. She died a while ago and I just found the song. This had to be her way of letting me know she’s still here to help even if she can’t be here physically ❤️

Arranged and conducted by the great Charles Callelo. Written and produced by the great team Linzer-Randell, who also wrote "A Lover's Concerto" and "Can't Get Enough of You, Baby," as well as other hits.

A Top 20 follow up to "A Lover's Concerto", and hard to get in true stereo. Just as good as "Concerto" and like "Concerto", it borrows a classical theme. In this case, the melody is borrowed from Pieter Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite"

Like many follow ups to hit singles in the 1960s , an attempt was made to release something sounding quite similar, a practice celebrated by Holland Dozier Holland 's "It's the Same Old Song" - which does its very best to be "I Can't Help Myself" part 2.

I know there are some good singers that they're both individuals and girl groups why can't they get some good song writers to write some good songs like this for them and I actually use the English language to make a good recording please try that

Too bad the melody doesn't flow, it seems like the chords & notes were just chosen at random. It would definitely be difficult to sing this one live. The arrangement is nice, but Lover's Concerto is definitely the better written song!

You cannot compare equally great records because the magic is in the session. If what you suppose is true ? It makes this record even more legendary! Now this is not to say that 'Lovers con......' isn't a masterpiece but just different feels. I wish I could write a record that will live for ever and you should never play with that.

An unfortunate follow up to the masterpiece... Badly produced, and out of tune ..killed their career...
