I absolutely love your show! I’ve never commented before, I was born in 1963 and I grew up watching all of the shows that you talk about and share a little bit of knowledge! Keep doing what you do because it’s absolutely fabulous! And for an old person like me to find out things that I didn’t know about the shows that I loved is a really cool thing.

Okay true story. Our daughter was born in 1994. My wife and I picked out her middle name. It was going to be my wife's middle name, Elizabeth. We couldn't agree on her first name. Right before her last push I said how about Samantha. She agreed and Samantha was born. It wasn't until about 2000 while watching Bewitched that I realized we named our Daughter after the character Samantha Steven's and the actress Elizabeth Montgomery.

Now.. Let's visit a small town in North Carolina called Mayberry.. There's so many easter egg nuggets there, you would have to do an entire series on. Andy Griffith was extremely upset when he heard of the Kennedy assassination as well. This Ernest T. Bass episode was delayed in filming due to the assassination of United States President John F. Kennedy on November 22 1963. Jackie Joseph, best known for playing Ramona Ankrum in the series, explained that before the news broke, the cast and crew were laughing during the read-through of an episode. Jackie stated, "I'm just sitting in the room with them; it was such a tickle, and they enjoyed the read-through just like they were enjoying watching a show. You know, they were just laughing, getting a kick out of each other. I mean it continued; it went on and on. They were enjoying it while doing it. And nobody laughed at Don more than Andy. He was just hysterical." Then, suddenly, the mood changed. Joseph explained, "And then the awful news came that President Kennedy had been shot. One of the assistants in the office came in and, you know, just such a pall came over the room. Everybody was stunned." Andy Griffith The Andy Griffith Show According to Andy Griffith, he was not like Andy Taylor The decision was made to cut rehearsal short, and the cast and crew returned to continue work after a hard weekend of keeping their eyes glued to the television set, with rapt attention to any news broadcasts and updates. Still, while the mood was mournful when they returned to the set to shoot, it seemed that the actors were aware of the power that the series had to brighten spirits. No one knew this better than Don Knotts himself, who, despite all the sadness, was able to make others laugh that day. Joseph said, "Everybody was so professional and Don got everybody laughing, just by acting, by just doing his part."

HUGE lifelong fan of Bewitched, Rick! Glad you're giving it another chance! Interesting bit of trivia about Sheila Sommers (Nancy Kovak), in that a character in the 1967 Matt Helm movie "The Ambushers" there was a character in it with the same name - not played by Kovak!

I was in the second grade at 2:30 pm when I first heard of the assassination of Kennedy. It truly was an event that put life on hold for many. Schools were closed, entire programming schedules on TV were canceled, everyone was glued to the television for updates. I even saw Oswald shot on live TV, and vividly I still sadly remember the solemn drums during the funeral procession. I understand that many television and movie productions were affected, including the filming of My Fair Lady.

A show has to be on air five years to develop enough episodes (100) for syndication. With that said, on those rare days when I took a "mental health" day off from school, I enjoyed seeing Bewitched (syndicated shows would be seen in the 9 AM to 10 AM block) as Bewitched was new to syndication in those days. My parents never watched the show and this was the only time I could watch the show.

Hi Rick. I had no idea about any rehearsal or shooting schedules. That event will forever be etched in my mind. I was in first grade and let out of school early once the news spread. All of us kids were wondering what was going on and then they told us. We were all outside and the world was a different place for a while. We watched it all on our black and white tv. I absolutely love Bewitched! It is one of my all time favorite shows and I still watch it now. Much more so then I Dream of Jeannie, although I love that show too. Yes to more Bewitched content. I did know all about William Asher though. Thanks for sharing this information!😊

Great job on the video! I do remember hearing about this and also the situation on Gillian's Island. And yes I would love to see you do more on Bewitched. I was 5 years old when the show premiered, as a little kid I was fascinated by all the magic and special effects of the time. I've also watched the reruns multiple times over the decades since the original airings. Thanks for the great job you do on KZitem, looking forward to your next video!

Rick, I would like to see more videos on Bewitched. Bewitched is one of my favorite shows from the 60's early 70's. Yes, I watched I Dream of Jennie as well, but Bewitched was my favorite show between the two. I like the movie Bell, Book, and Candle with Kim Novac and Jimmy Stewart for which this show has a similar story.

Rick, I was just the opposite. I watched Bewitched, but not so much of I Dream of Jeannie. This was probably because my parents controlled the evening tv channels. I was 8 at the time JFK was assassinated and 9 when Bewitched premiered in September 1964.

I found the original Darrin to be enjoyable. I do not believe the unfounded claims that the audience was unaware of the change in actors portraying Darrin. It is worth noting that Elizabeth Montgomery was one of the most aesthetically pleasing women to appear on television during that era.

Hi Rick; horrible what happened to JFK and one should seek RFK Jr.'s comments on the matter and be concerned especially now. Bewitched sitcom was taken from the 1942 movie; as I find with most sitcoms, the best shows are produced within 3-5 years. When Dick York left and from what I read, was not treated nicely, I lost all interest.
