So I just checked the well myself and if you use ascend from the room with the journal you’ll go to the top of a hill with a lone silent princess the same flower you can find on memorials around the kingdom made by Zelda to honor the dead, you can see it by using ascend right in front of the journal and looking a bit to the right

Talking about a tragic tale inside of tears of kingdom there’s a traveler who fell in the well, and they try to keep themselves alive enough for someone to come. They made a potion to keep themselves warm but instead, they accidentally made a potion to make them colder and perished. The well what the story was up towards near The north left mountain

We need a DLC to help this man get Vengeance for his wife, so he and his children can finally live in peace. Maybe be able to have Dorian fight along side Link as a companion when they are dealing with Yiga in new DLC quests or dungeons, to finish off that annoying Yiga master once and for all.
@Iwannarox

Well, the Yiga didn't split off from the Sheikah for no reason. The Royal Family were threatened by the technology the Sheikah possessed and ostracized them. They mention it in the Champion book but Impa's tapestry in BOTW depicts the king pushing them out and even shows the actual split. The Sheikah in Kakariko gave up their tech and lived simple lives but the Yiga were angry and began to work against the kingdom of Hyrule.

The thing that annoys me is that the Yiga wanted to keep their technology so they branched off but yet I barely see any of the tech they speak of, unless it was lost for ages afterwards before BotW happened.
@Iwannarox

@@rockowlgamer631 I mean, that's a fair point, right? If we assume they split off 10,000 years ago that's a tremendous amount of time. They branched off and were cut off from all of the rest of society and all its resources - in 10,000 years I could believe they lost that knowledge anyway. In 1,000 years they could lose that knowledge. In BOTW, Master Kohga does somehow have techniques similar to those Link gets with the Sheikah Slate (ie magnesis) but that's about all we see. Minor TOTK Yiga spoilers: In TOTK they demonstrate a little more of their prowess with technology by quickly grasping the tech that's available to them to build death machines. Anyway, a lot of words to say that I completely understand why they didn't have a lot of tech - it makes sense and I really find the story behind the Yiga compelling and kinda sad. I don't blame them for splitting off from the Sheikah. Hyrule turned their backs on them completely after all their people had done for them. But I wish they got the chance to shine a bit more.

@@Iwannaroxplus my head cannon is that they didn’t just “decide” to branch off and work for ganon they just left the village cause they were mad and after some years they began to resent the sheikah for siding with the “traitors” and abandoning their high tech ways eventually siding with ganon then after many years the yiga became a clan people can join like you see in totk so eventually all of the sheikah either got bred out or most the members weren’t sheikah and now they have almost no tech or sheikah knowledge at all

Prior it was sort of implied that Dorian was a mole the entire time who while trying to figure out the Heirloom met his wife and she changed his heart which led to marriage and kids and started to flake on his Yiga duties as why would he destroy what his wife cherished? When the Yiga heard about it they took out his wife and threatened the kids when you as the player comes around to help resolve his issue. That's how I always read into it. The new context with the well implies a different story.

In the character profiles Sheikah are listed as a group of Hylians. I always assumed they were supposed to be a different race, but I guess they’re being treated more like a real-world race and not a species. Then again Gerudo can reproduce with Hylians, but their kids end up looking way more like Gerudo, almost entirely give birth to women, and age the same way. It’s weird

I had a weird theory about the birth of the Yiga 10000 years ago and the King of Hyrule. We know the latter ordered all Sheikah tech to be destroyed or buried which would seem odd given they helped the hero and the princess stop the Calamity and given how long the Sheikah served the royal family it would seem strange to suddenly be distrustful of them, so why? Did he know something would happen like Ganon returning and corrupting the tech? We know the royal family was future sight given Zelda of OOT was able to predict future events and Zelda of BOTW had a dream warning her that Calamity was there already so who to say the King didn't have one of those dreams. What if he dreamt that the Sheikah tech would turn on Hyrule that's why he started to oppress the Sheikah without realizing he was making those dark dreams come true?
