The COVID-19 pandemic had made the density of Indonesian railway activities temporarily reduced a lot. For almost two years, many trains were temporarily suspended. Apart from travel restrictions, it is also for efficiency. During that time, the series whose trains were not running for a while rested, as well as the locomotive. Over time, conditions began to improve. More and more trains are being re-run, which of course requires a circuit. Therefore, the train operator company, in this case PT KAI, has begun to prepare itself. Locomotives and trains that were resting were reactivated. However, re-activating of course must comply with the procedure. The series must also be taken to Balai Yasa, Balai Yasa Yogyakarta for locomotives, and Balai Yasa Surabaya Gubeng for passenger carriages. In mid-July 2022, the process has started. Several series of trains in Yogyakarta that were stored in Rewulu began to be inspected and taken to Balai Yasa Surabaya Gubeng, before being ready to run again. The process of reactivation of this train series began on July 16 when the locomotive departed from Tugu station, took a flat carriage unit or GD in Patukan to be brought to Rewulu. In Rewulu, the locomotive exchanged GD for the existing GD, as well as retrieving some of the stored trains. Next, the series departed for Tugu Station after leaving a GD in Patukan. Arriving at Yogyakarta Tugu Station, the circuit is stored to undergo a condition check. A few days later, on July 27, 2022, the series was sent from Yogyakarta to Surabaya. This is the moment when this special train was recorded in the Wonokromo area, and then at the entrance of the Balai Yasa Surabaya Gubeng train workshop. Not long after, the circuit that had changed locomotives was slid in. Due to the limited shunt path, the circuit is divided into two parts so that it can be shunted in. For that, the slash process occurs twice. First, five carriages were slid in. After that the locomotive came out, took the rest, and pushed it to the Balai Yasa Surabaya Gubeng area. While waiting for the locomotive to leave and return to the depot, we shifted to the northern area of the Surabaya Gubeng station. It can be seen from the north that the Bima train series heading for Surabaya-Jakarta via Yogyakarta is sliding into the station and ready to serve. Not long after, the locomotive came out, and meanwhile a commuter train was seen departing and passing fellow commuter trains but using an emergency circuit.
