I don't know about yall but I'm enjoying my dementia after my tbi almost 20 years ago.some of my memory slowly came back in the first 3 or 4 years. I always couldn't wait to be that crazy old man down the road. I was only 49 when I got hit and smashed by a dodge. It literally broke almost every bone in my body.not to mention it smashed my skull and face.with a pretty good brain bleed. I was out for about 3 weeks and in the hospital for 4 months. When I wouldn't die they finally started fixing some of my broken bones that healed up funny. 11 ortho type surgeries in 4 years and I was walking. But the ol memory has been slowly slipping last couple years. I still live alone but I get to share my nuttiness with the neighbors once in a while. I stopped driving a couple years ago which means I stopped seeing my doctors also. I'm just waiting to lose enough marbles where I don't know or notice I've lost it.

Dr Sullivan: With all this plethora of info on TBIs & therapy regarding them, that's great but how about those many people who've had Brain Surgery because of cancer?! There is nothing I've ever heard of!!! I had my brain surgeries in 1990 & have had serious mental problems since! No brain surgeron, hospital, or Neorlogist seems to have a clue about behavioral changes, or seem to care they don't have an answer. I think they feel if your cancer is gone, don't complain, just be happy you're vertical & don't worry about your quality of life!!! So - I have 0 friends, live by myself, no job, etc, etc.

Dr. Sullivan, a relative of mine keeps forgetting things and insists that she has not handled them and starts crying saying: you are always blaming me. She also seems to say the wrong word while speaking or telling an incident. This is quite often. Is this leading to dementia?

Hi doctor I have a question, I recently got into a car accident T-Boned on my side door and got knocked out for at least 11 to 6 seconds, I feel all the symptoms of TBI and concussion, I remember everything before the accident and even childhood memories.. and I also remember new memories and dreams, so far I've been improving it's been 4 months and a couple days now, but I get flare ups of confusion and hallucinations, when I go to sleep early, before 12am, I'll wake up and feel confused I cant type I feel unbalanced, then it goes away after 6 hours or so.. or when I go to sleep the next day.. iam I declining ? I was 25yrs old when it happened which was 4 months ago in july the 28th, I dont smoke or drink, I was very healthy before the accident, and I slept Farley ok 6 hours a night now I'm 26 as of september 20th. This is still happening even after 4 months, im worried because when this happens it feels like I lose the ability to think clearly and I say words that dont exist. I also Read words that dont exist. Or create words, I'm aware of this but I'm worried, but this only happens when I sleep early, before 12am I've noticed, it gets really bad to the point to where I'm reading things that aren't there for a quarter of the day on and off.
