Great book review. This is one of the best books around and written by a hardcore practicing occultist and scholar.

Such a wonderful review…thank you. I often wonder (perhaps this info is out there and I haven’t looked in the right place) how the seals and sigils of the Spirits, specifically Goetia, were formulated…were they given to previous practitioners directly from the Spirits or were they put together according to some formula, or perhaps a combination of sources? It would be interesting to hear your explanation of these. Blessings.

The origin of majority of Sigils is practically unknown. I believe they were channeled by occultists centuries ago and proven by time. It is interesting that many people invoking the spirits are drawing similar sigils through automatic drawing...I might do a video about it later :)

The Secrets of Solomon DEFINITELY get a copy of Joseph Peterson’s new critical edition of the Secrets of Solomon. It is older than the Grimorium Verum, and is considered to be its prototype ;)

The physical copy is hard to find. I think I’ve seen a copy that’s paperback of the True Grimoire at an occult bookstore in my hometown for like $500. I of course got the digital copy on Amazon for much less.

Scarlet imprint has their own website you can order directly from. Also this book recently received a second edition. You may still be able to grab one in hardcover but regardless, the paperback should be there.

Recently preordered the second edition hardcover and eagerly awaiting delivery. I don’t own the Peterson version. Do you think it’s worth having; is there additional info that’s not in the JSK version?
@MagisterClavus

I would say Peterson’s version is worth having as well as he describes several editions of Grimorium Verum in quite detail.

My advice is skip the history lessons on these books it doesn’t matter where it comes from it should be just practiced I’m coming to realise that 95% of people are armchair magicians because of the mountains of pages of history 🤦🏻♂️ it’s like buying a car and not driving it just sitting around all day reading the manuals.

Thank you for your opinion but I think what would be the message of such videos without historical content? Try to look at it from different perspective. There are so many channels producing their “genuine mystical” experience and watchers just absorbing their experiences like some sort of a scary podcast or erotic movie. Sharing mystical experience to someone without similar experience is worthless. Speaking about my subjective moments of “connection” is of no value to the others except cheap profanation of these experiences. Who knows , knows. Western Magic is about history, philosophy and metaphysics. It is about being even armchair magician as without the proper knowledge you can’t reach higher mysteries. Majority of successful magicians were highly educated in theory (Crowley, Austin Osman Spare, Graham Mathews or Jack Stratton Kent or Frater Acher from the contemporary ones..) Knowledge increases imagination that is a must for the actual work.Simple rituals without adequate education can be effective in shamanism but 99 percent of modern day adepts are lost to such tradition. Without naming other YT channels I think maybe just 2% of those that post their rituals in darkened rooms actually do something above simple techniques. For more you need a lot of practice. No one sane would make such videos or even speak of such things on public. I almost never speak about my actual practice as it is not the purpose of this channel. What would such esoteric experiences give to the practitioners except cheap thrill? I produce mostly content about history of magic so in my case I like to adopt the persona of armchair magician. I admit , it is the purpose of this channel. 🙂

"Where it comes from doesn't matter" Dude would it matter if you cut out a newt's eye when a old spell actually calls for mustard seed? Yes it would, because historical context is important when looking into old work
