Finished 1-2 very first race. Even won a race once with street legal treaded tires. Man, the 962 Porsche was a thing of beauty. And more Baja and offroad racing wins than you can count. I remember when I first got my 1999 Land Rover Defender 110 TD5, the previous owner had it fitted with raised rally suspension, it had 16" x 10" deep dish modular steel wheels. The most distinct one of the special features was its 285/75/R16 B.F. Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tyres. In 2016 we had a snowstorm in Ireland and I volunteered to go for rescue operations, as I had the confidence that my Land Rover is one of the most capable vehicles out there in such an environment. For 4 days straight days and nights, I drove through 4 feet high snow dunes transporting nurses and making airport runs, and even driving an entire stag party to a railway station. I had 10 passengers and their luggage and a broken down civil defense Ford Ranger on my tow-bar, and it was all because of the tyres I had. The only times I got stuck was when the chassis got beached on snow and the tyres lost contact with the ground.

I got a set of Nitto Ridge Grapplers because I wanted something more aggressive for off-road use but not quite a mud terrain tire for on-road use. I wish I would have gotten the KO2's since they do almost as well off-road but are much quieter on the road. The Nitto's are loudest at about 45 MPH which is the speed of most of my city driving. They got noisy at the end and they were 5 years old with still a lot of tread left. I changed them out because of time and a few had some chunks missing. Still no dry rot. I just put 285 70 R17 on my jeep and chose k02. Same brand different style. I am hoping the rubber is the same in these tires because i felt the kms rubber was still in fantastic shape meaning the rubber wasn't hard and dry rotted.

My one complaint about KO2's is the tread life. 2500 diesel Ram, they did not last long! Only about 18000 miles in fact. The rubber was just not hard enough for a truck that big. Toyo A/T 2's have been on about 13000 miles now and still look pretty sharp; almost new, in fact.

The original BFG mud TA was far better than the KM3 is. It would last for ever & drive like your truck was on rails!

BFG’s all the way! I have a set of BFG Long Trail T/A’s on an F-150 that have 80,000 miles on them & they still have enough tread on them to pass inspection (by a mile)! Unbelievable.

I've been running them since 1988 they are th best. Always would get white letters unfortunately they don't offer them in my size. That pissed me off. They need to straighten that out. I'm proud of BFG I want people to know what I'm running

Sorry but Henry Ford used Firestone tires on his cars when they started using rubber tires and the model t was originally made to run on ethanol

BFG is literally just Michelin. Michelin/BFG uses extremely high quality rubber but starts off with much less tread then its competitors.

Been running KO2's on my fzj80 for the last 4.5 years and KO's prior to that. Have always gotten a good 80,000km out of them - best tyre for the Cruiser's. Will be due for another set in about 6 months however have noticed the ones we get in Australia now are no longer made in USA but Thailand. Are the ones made in Thailand just as good as the USA made ones or is there any difference in compound / construction?
