You know what , sometimes snap-on does make the best tool for a certain jobs, like there heal bars, I've brought 3 sets over 34 years, because their is no other bars tuff as them, and the angle is just right for popping stuff out(ie injectors old pencil, wheel seals etc.

For content, I think a good instructional video would be frame health on a vehicle being purchased. Many people may not know how much frame pitting, rust, what kind of damage, etc etc is ok or not ok. I think people would benefit from seeing a video on what to look for, and what to avoid when purchasing a truck based on frame condition. One thing I see a lot is quicky spray paint jobs on trucks being sold that basically just hides the frame condition in favor of a sale.
@jorgeposadas1192
4 ай бұрын
Paint doesn't hide rust pitting, it's the buyer that looks at the paint and thinks, everything is OK, me on the other hand, that 30K truck is gonna get an offer 15K cus it's damaged like hell. Most likely I won't even make an offer and walk off.
@Drakonniz
4 ай бұрын
@@jorgeposadas1192 I am aware that I could have typed that out better. I was tired when I posted the comment. Essentially, what I was trying to say is that I see listings online where paint is used to hide things and bump listing price. From what I can see (especially from one mid-country seller), is that paint is applied over the top of rust rattle-can style, which will cause worse issues later. I have seem attempts from online sellers at hiding pitting with bondo and paint as well. I hope that somewhat clarifies what I was trying to say with an empty brain battery.

Can you do a video on S-Cams, Cam bushings and brake Pins/Bushings. I’ve lost count on the number of times I heard or been told that nobody worries with that stuff and they have never had a problem with any of that on their trucks. But somehow I always find an issue in on my first load anytime we run together and im using one of their trailers. 50 mikes down the road I’m pulling the rest stoop with my temp gun in hand trying to identify which set of brakes is dragging and keeping me from costing/screw up my gear sift timing. They claim to have just had the brakes adjusted but when I use the draw bar to check s-cam slack, we get an inch or more of slop when we lift up with the bar. Having to replace the spider ain’t. I fun especially if you gotta cut it off and weld on a replacement. They probably still won’t grease the tube but maybe they will change those wear items before they wear through and start eating into stuff that Ms not made to be replaced every 200k

Why it's so hard to for mechanics to read manuals how to? Threaded spring pin installation from Volvo/Mack manual Screw pin in bushing so the pin equally protrudes from each side of the bushing. Put bushing with pin on hangar so the retaining bolts grove on the pin aligned with bolt. Mark top on the bushing. Take pin out and press bushing in the spring eye with mark on the top. All three pins will be aligned perfectly. No bangs, premature wear after. Grease ports should be on inner side, accessible from under truck.

You ever get any trucks in with the frame broke because they drilled the bottom flange for that sprint hanger? My favorite is the trucks that have that style of hanger and right next to it is the sticker that says do not weld or drill frame flanges. And for whatever reason it's always the damn trucks with cat engines that have been shoehorned into the frame with no room to even reach besides the motor inside of the frame.
