Europeans are not accustomed to coronations. Only British monarchs are crowned in a religious ceremony, all others being proclaimed. The last coronation on the mainland took place in Norway in 1905. The geneology of European royalty is not confusing at all. Write everything down on paper and it's very easy to follow. If it's rattled off the way it is in this video, it makes no sense whatsoever.
@kaloarepo288

European royals used to be crowned in elaborate ceremonies -the French ones were crowned in the royal city of Rheims in the great cathedral there -Rossini's opera "The Journey to Rheims" still occasionally performed is set against the backdrop of the coronation of king Charles X in the mid 1820's.The pope was crowned in an elaborate ceremony with the triple tiara until quite recently and then paraded around in his elevated sedan chair often parodied by the comedian Allen.It's only quite recently that ceremonies were toned down or eliminated all together on the continent but Britain is the only place that now continues with the pomp and ceremony.The references are all biblical with allusions to the coronation of king Solomon in the Bible -"Zadok the Priest and Nathan the prophet anointed Solomon king" -these are the words of the wondrous coronation anthem by Georg Frederick Handel used in the British coronation ceremony since the reign of George II I think.Whether or not Prince Charles will want all this pomp is a moot point but his elaborate wedding to Diana in 1982 was full of baroque Handelian splendor in the baroque St Paul's cathedral.

In the 19th and early 20th Centuries, royal marriages had very strict rules. Royalty was only allowed to marry royalty, always of equal station. Princes and princesses were allowed to marry commoners, which is the case today.

Talking about "the apple not falling far ... from the horse ..." What a pile your comment is!! First of all, the Spainish monarchs are the poorest in Europe. Felipe VI"s personal wealth is $2.8 million, around 5% of Elizabeth II's personal wealth, which is estimated at $500 million, and that is only a fraction of her total wealth. Prince Adam II of Liechtenstein is the richest, worth $7.6 BILLION. Your comment re "the poor, manipulated and brainwashed ..." is more nonsense. Extravagant lifestyles of the entire Royal Family? (That would be 4 adults and 2 teen-aged daughters.) Hardly! As of 2021, the official budget for the Spanish monarchy - not the King's salary - is 8.4 million euros, one of the lowest public expenditures for the instituion in Europe. In 2020 the cost of the President of France to the people was just under 100 million euros. Do your research.
