The best thing in the whole world IMO is roasted brussel sprouts. Oh my goodness. They taste wonderful, especially if you have managed to delete the simple refined sugars in your diet. I also think people gravitate to the keto diet because they really would like to believe eating all that meat and such is healthy. Just my take.

Im amazed that people feel good eating starches. Ive been vegan 38 years and ive never been able to eat any grains or beans or nits or seeds without just feeling horrid.....stuffed heavy tired and bloated. The only way i can even be vegan is to eat lots of fruit or sweet potatoes and juices and an avocado a day....no oils and very little sea salt. I dont understand how people feel good eating any foods that are so heavy like beans and grains . to me beans are just like eating meat. They render me worthless for 24 hours....i cant stand to feel anything heavy in my gut....i wish we didnt even have to eat to survive it is such an expense and a chore to be honest

I am surprised you do not have deficiencies as à vegan who omits whole food groups. You must be skinny. Not eating entire food groups is unhealthy as you miss out on important nutrients. I also wonder how you do without starches as it is what gives you satiety as Dr Mcdougall says. You should be hungry on your diet eating only fruits- vegs with juice ( isnt juice supposed to rise your blood sugar? Plantbased docs advise against drinking your calories instead of eating them) or you May have eating disorder. Feeling something heavy in your stomach means satiation so if your not feeling à little heavy you never satiate your hunger... you just suppress it and your body is starving without you knowing it. Beans are not heavy. I have ulcerative colitis and can still eat it without problems, just need to cook it well and before cooking I soak or sprout beans. Then rinse the soaking water thoroughly. Some people like AJ are intolerant to beans but this is not like feeling heavy, its like having GI issues. I eat even if I am not hungry as I have absorbtion issues ( So I cannot go full plantbased, just " plant-forward"). If I wait to be hungry or do not eat until I feel heavy, I lose weight ( I am skinny due to m'y illness). So getting enough calories for me is hard even on an omni diet. Btw its à low fat omni diet, I eat only lean meat in moderation and some low fat dairy. I would revise my diet in your place as what you do is not healthy plant based eating but picky eating ( no offense!).

People like to blame their few months or years on a plant based diet instead of their whole life eating animals and oils and junk . Sometimes the damage has already been done and not even this diet could reverse everything. People like to blame plants and rarely ever think back to how their past diet is currently affecting them.

Wfpb diet is way better than the SAD diet for sure. But i don't think it's the best way for long term health. I've been wfpb for almost 2 years and i had trouble with my gut , inflammation and energy. I tried many variations of the plant based diet but i never healed anything. I been on keto some months and I get better , and after that I've switch to a carnivore diet with lots of animal fats and no dairy except butter. I healed everything and I feel really good, inside and outside.

Millions of people live into their 90s and 100s just eating plants. We hardly ate meat in the Dominican Republic, when I was kid there. I ate lots of rice, beans, mangos and plantains. I was a very active kid. When I came to the USA, I got fat pretty quickly. My great grandparents lived into their late 90s on a diet of rice and beans and plantains. In China, in South America in most of Asia, many people have lived into their 100s on plants. All the blue zones of the world, the places where many people live till 100 without any major diseases, are plant based.
