@dimensionsbygina
Жыл бұрын
@Sherell Jasper It is more like a conditioner with 1 surfactant or gentle surfactants. It is more on the gentler side. More conditioning agents then cleansing agents. Some co washes don't even having cleansing agents so it is best just to stay away from them. Just use a moisturizing shampoo. Hope that helps.

I think most people are taking this out of context. BGC advocates against oils and butters and not washing your hair as you just stated. They are trying to get black women to "wash your damn hair". Lots of naturals use oil and butter in place of water. BCG is not against oil and butter that is formulated for hair, they are against raw oils and raw butter which according to them sits on top of the hair because the molucules are too large to penetrate the hair shaft.

I knew it! There was a group of people on Twitter trying to shame me for using oils and butters in my air all to push their own products THAT HAD OILS IN IT when they claimed there were none! Being ganged up on like that was just horrible.. they tried everything under the sun to convince me even laughed and shamed me for making my own hair products that I KNEW FOR A FACT worked for my hair. These natural hair stylists on social media that said you don’t need butters and oils and that you just need water are lying through their teeth! Because if you say oh ok, they try to push other products to you. And there were a few of them that tried to tell me that our ancestors didn’t use butters or that just because they used them doesn’t mean we should and that our hair I suppose to be dry! NO! Oh no no no! Thank you sir for all that you do shutting this bs down one video at a time ❤️

(Not justifying but) That part is actually just misinformation. They recommend products they have oils and butters in them.

I think that was intentional because that's the point. It's already well formulated into those products so adding more to "moisturize" is redundant. We don't need to! Just shampoo weekly, condition and style your hair. Also dry your hair under a dryer or with a diffuser

I used to get irritated by the no oils no butters nazi attitude. later I realized that they misappropriated the recommendation of a curly stylist who advised her clients to get to know their hair instead of slathering it with product. Her original recommendation was that they take a TEMPORARY break for 30 days , while using recommended lighter product (which do contain oils and butters in them anyways🙄) . Anyways , some ignant netizens began to misinterpret the science behind it, and the no oils crew snowballed into the fascist army that terrorizes us in these internet streets.

Once I put my mousse on clean product free hair my curls pop and lasts for weeks. When I was doing the loc method I had to do twist outs that would frizz out before the end of the week and then I would have to retwist.

Other things I learned from them really benefited my hair especially the better quality shampoo & conditioner & the right product and process for a wash n go. But I loc’d my hair and did go back to using some oil (jojoba) because I noticed how soft & moisturized it keeps my skin. And I always make sure its wet first!
