There is nothing ‘Greek’ about Prince Philip. Danes were imported to be monarchs after Greek liberation from the Ottoman Empire. His mother was Princess Alice of Battenberg, the name Anglicized as Mountbatten when the profound connection of the English monarchy to German families became embarrassing. Queen Victoria imported a number of impecunious German relatives to England. Queen Mary, Princess Mary of Teck, was born in Kensington Palace; Princess Alice at Windsor Castle, where her son died.
@Shofianunes

You clearly have no knowledge about Greek history neither the meaning of "import" of "export". To say that Prince Philip has nothing Greek about him is, at least, a huge lack of respect towards him.

@@Shofianunes Culturally he could be as Greek as he wanted, which wasn’t much; ethnically he was a total fake. Did he even speak Greek? He gave interviews in fluent and idiomatic German. (I might add that Philip’s father was a Prince in the House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg.)

@@Chrysoula23 *roots Yes, if things were different. As it is, the family had to flee Greece so as a consequence Prince Philip doesn't have much attachment to Greece. Prince Philip was a genius, and such a handsome prince! Too bad, none of his sons come even close to their father's wit. Princess Anne is the closest comparison and no doubt she was the apple of her father's eye. Too bad, I would've preferred Princess Anne being king if she was born 1st and a male. But I also admire Princess Alice, Prince Philip's mother. I didn't know that they lived in Monte Carlo at 1 point in time. No wonder Prince Albert of Monaco attended his memorial recently on March 29, 2022. Prince Philip was a great prince, he does his families proud, unlike Prince Andrew, his father and son. He would've been a good king, if he didn't renounce his citizenships to become a British citizen and then marry Princess Elizabeth. In any case, he chose to fight the evil Nazis through Britain. And those other countries he was citizen of, they were suffering from their own problems, so it's a good thing he & his mother reunited at her home country: Britain.

King George was not Danish “nobility”, he was Danish royalty. He was the son of king Christian ix “the grandfather of Europe.” Christian’s eldest daughter married Albert the prince of Wales future Edward vii. His second daughter married the future Tsar Alexander iii. So Christian was grandfather, and George first cousin of, the Russian tsar and the English king. And son/brother to the Danish king Frederick viii of Denmark. Edited to add that Philip and the queen were related through queen Victoria and king Christian. Through queen Victoria they were third cousins and through Christian second cousins once removed. I personally find it ridiculous to call relatives this far removed incestuous or inbred as some people do.
