Brother Giles, CFX was not only a fiddler but a collector of tunes in Nelson County and nearby. He knew most of the local musicians and transcribed a number of their tunes in a notebook which now resides in the St. Joseph Prep archives in Spalding Hall. His notebook was twenty-seven pages with twenty tunes and commentary. This is a tune from page 14 which had no title but was played by "JT", John Talbott. Brother Giles used to call it "the tune from page 14" when he discussed it in his letters. It was a favorite of his and when he asked Talbott if it had a title, was told that Talbott never named his tunes.
