Today, Abi Salih and Abi Tarık brought me to the village of Purbach/Austria.
Here we will tell the story of an old Ottoman soldier.
A very interesting and touching story.
While we are looking for a chimney, the details of which we will explain shortly;
Being a non-touristy place at all, Purbach's houses, flowers and cleanliness do not escape our attention.
We can't help ourselves when we see a cherry tree in this village, which looks like it came out of the Hobbits movie, and we eat some cherries in return for the balls they bought in time.
It is possible to come across figures from our ancestors in the village from time to time.
Without us, "Would Austria have a history?" The question does not come to our mind either.
Finally, as we follow Purbachlı's trail, we also taste the white wine made from the grapes of his village.
So delicious, like juice...
According to one of the legends,
During the First Siege of Vienna, one of the Ottoman soldiers came to this house to find valuables, found and drank these wines, and fell asleep at home.
When he wakes up again, the Ottoman soldiers have withdrawn and the villagers have returned.
While trying to escape the chimney, he gets stuck. This soldier they took down voluntarily stays here for a long time, giving education to the children.
According to another rumor:
This Janissary Soldier eats the food here and tastes the wines and falls asleep.
When the homeowners come from outside, they want to escape from the chimney in panic, but cannot.
Expressing that he will not harm them in any way, the Janissary stays here.
He stays in Purbach and teaches vineyards to the locals.
According to another rumor, it is said that he got married here and got married and stayed here.
To keep the memory of this event alive, a bust of a Janissary was placed on that chimney. It is not known whether Purbachlı has a tomb or not.
A nation as conservative as the Austrians, you can buy wines made with the same recipe that probably struck Mohammed from Purbach, for 4-5-6 Euros.
You can drink this wine as you drink it, which has a very mild taste.
See you in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia!
