A person who some sense of humility and humbleness will try to improve things. Arrogant people like Patricia will never do that and then never understand why they fail.

Klecko roasts Walton in his book "Nose To Nose," written with center Joe Fields after a bitter falling out with the Jets high office. They call Walton paranoid and disrespectful of veterans to the point where he created needless friction. Walton did do something right in his coaching time, as he managed back-to-back playoff appearances in 1985-1986 (albeit with some great players). Ken O'Brien was a project of his that worked out well. He was a good OC who just got promoted out of his depth.

Exactly I was just gonna dispute this video a bit. Walton never had the Jets players respect, maybe there was some good will post speech here but read more than a few books and am old enough to remember (I was a kid but recall it good enough) that Joe Must GO Walton was not liked at all.

5:10..Tampa Bay tried an onside kick at the end of the game, in a blowout, to get James Wilder the total yard record. The onside kick failed and Tampa Bay let the jets score a touchdown...The Jets got their revenge, the next season, by running up the score against Tampa Bay beating them 62-28

That 1985 steamrolling in North Jersey hurts. If JG9 ever finds footage of the '84 game and posts a video about it, it would be bittersweet for me due to what happened the following season.

Tampa allowed the Jets to score so that they could give James Wilder more chances to break the record for combined yards rush/rec in a season. It was also John McKay's final game (their HC since day 1 in '76 when they were in the AFC). On the Jets final drive, a Bucs player said he screwed up and accidentally tackled. The whole Bucs team wanted Wilder to get the record

Crutchfield was cut out of anger after costing the Jets that Buffalo game. The game was tied and the Jets were in FG range with two minutes left when Crutchfield fumbled. The Bills drove down the field and scored the winning TD (shown) with 22 seconds left. To be fair Crutchfield never amounted to anything afterwards Went to the Rams to back up Dickerson for a year and he was out of the game by 1985.

Uggh, those two snaps with Ken O'Brien getting sacked at 3:14 & 7:20 highlight his biggest issue: sometimes even when he had time, O'Brien failed to throw the ball, so he took some unnecessary sacks. Ken, throw it already! Too bad, because otherwise, O'Brien had some good tools & strong offensive personnel.

Wow, something good happens to the Jets for once! Joe Walton ranks second to Weeb Ewbank in Jets coaching history in terms of tenure (Joe coached 83-89) and wins and losses (Joe was 53-57-1 with the Jets)

ken o' b had some nice wr's in toon and wesley walker and te mickey shuler. And freeman mcneil in the backfield. He just held on to the ball too #kn long and took too many sacks. Look at the way marino (who went after o' b in '83 draft) gets rid of the ball quickly and on target compared to o'b. Then imagine marino with those offensive weapons and ny sack exchange. Jets at least replace browns or donkeys in a title game and at least get to a sb to get their asses handed to them by bigger physical nfc team. Dumb ass jets.

Walton's job status was constantly in jeopardy throughout his tenure. They were a very talented team in the mid 80s but JOE MUST GO (as was commonly chanted at Jets games back then) continously botched game days. For sure he should of been fired after 1988 but the Jets upset the Giants and knocked them out of the playoffs finishing 8-7-1. Finally they fired him after a 4-12 1989. Leon Hess the owner was beyond loyal to Walton

1. Regarding what you said about the Jets watching game film after the 1984 finale, after Indiana University lost to Cleveland State in the 1986 NCAA Tournament Bob Knight had his team practicing afterwards. There was a rule back then that allowed practices until the championship game was played. 2. The unofficial Official Jaguar Gator 9 historian will remind everyone you made a video about a bizarre press conference involving Walt Michaels. When you announce 20K subscribers I’ll ask you a question about your linking of previous videos.

Hey JG9, could you make a video to explain how did the time work in NFL before 1970s? I know NFL started to use play clock since the 70s, but how did the game play before that. Did the game have delay of game penalty? Did the refs hurry the players to run a play after the huddle? This should be an interesting video topic.
