And also, Nepo unnecessarily said that the tournament was suppose to be "Open" which already was(as mentioned by Abhi in his reply), so there was no point of argument for Nepo, he was wrong all the way along! The only good thing he did was not to escalate the conflict more by refusing to reply.....and Emil was the stupidest in this controversy! @@CK-nh7sv , why it shouldn’t be? This is the rule and Abhimanyu earned it fair and square. So did, Magnus and Karjakin few years ago… if it would be that easy, this record would have been broken since long…

@@nicbentulan that won’t change the fact that all who were qualified based upon previous rules are still valid GMs… Karjakin..Magnus..all the day they been GM will still remain unchanged..simple, rule is rule of the time..period..

@@PEACE_LUVR no one's / no system is perfect, so if we see there's a problem, we won't impose an ex post facto policy, but we'll change the law. what's the problem?

Just being a challenger to World champion has got into head to Ian... It's also that a non russian is now holding record. This guy is really toxic. Iam not defending Abhimanyu. But Ian 30yr old adult crying is definitely out of superiority complex. Let's see how he will fare in championships...let's go Magnus

Abhimanyu should keep his down and continue to focus on his chess career. He still has a long way to go and a lot of untapped potential. He could be a future world champion

Then again, becoming a gm early seems to mean very little in chess these days, not to take anything from Abhimanyu but constant improvement seems to be much more important in today's atmosphere with even older players experiencing immense improvement as long as they try.

My respect to Nepo: 📈 Good job man👍 May Alekhine's spirit possessed you in the Championship and beat that reincarnation of Capablanca, Magnus.
