Meanwhile energy companies report record profits. What is the point of a price cap if you increase it by insane amounts every couple of months?
@peterjones4180
2 жыл бұрын
There IS no point of a price cap IF you continue to prevent fossil fuel power generation companies, from producing and selling all the energy they can. The whole point of governments driving up the price of fossil fuel energy and THEY HAVE is to make fossil fuel prices similar to wind and solar to enforce the implementation of their global warming polcys. The fastest way to fix the problem is to REMOVE all caps and subsidies and FORCE wind and solar to compete in an unregulated market in terms of lower prices, Britain's problem is that the conservatives are infested with extreme left politicians now and have introduced Labor and Greens global warming energy policies. Its wind and solar that have caused the problems with pricing. In a competitive market where wind and solar were forced to compete on an even playing field NO ONE WOULD BUY THEIR ENERGY its just too expensive and intermittent. Sensible energy policy would be like that of Chinas LOTS of Coal fired power stations and quite a bit of nuclear.

The British East India Company seized Bengal in 1757 by force. Then the British forced the peasantry to handover their produce and engineered a famine in 1770 that killed a third of the population. Following that, there were 24 famines between 1850-1899 in different parts of the country, where tens of millions of people killed. From 1765 to 1938, Britain extracted 45 trillion pound sterling from India, which was effectively the down payment for the Industrial Revolution. In 1700, India had 25% of the world’s GDP. By 1950, they had only 4%. In 1943, during the WW II, Winston Churchill diverted food from Bengal to Britain, resulted in 3 million Indians deaths. When India got independent from the British, the literacy rate was just 14%. From the late 17th century to the 18th century, Britain smuggled opium into China to dope the population, a strategy to turn around a huge trade deficit, after the British could not find enough silver to pay the Qing government in their tea and porcelain trades. After opium was destroyed in salt water and ports were closed by the Chinese in ordered to curb opium, the British started the Opium War I, which China lost. Hong Kong was forced to be surrendered to the British. After 12 years, the British got really greedy. They demanded the Qing government: 1) To open the borders of China to allow goods coming in and out freely and tax free. 2) Make opium legal in China. After being rejected, the British and French, with support by the USA, started Opium War II with China, which again, China lost. The Anglo-French military raided the Summer Palace, an estimated 150,000 pieces of historic treasures with a 1900-year span from the first Qin Dynasty up to the Qing Dynasty were raided and many ended up in the British Museum in London. After the Summer Palace was burned down in 3 days, the Anglo-French military then threatened to burn the Imperial Palace. The Qing government was forced to pay with free trade ports, 300,000 kilograms of silver and the Kowloon district north of Hong Kong Island was taken. Since then, China’s resources flew out freely from the free trade ports. In the subsequent amendment to the treaties, Chinese people were sold overseas to serve as labor, famously known as “piglet labor”. Britain, a tiny country, had turned the two biggest economies in the world into poverty stricken slumps. China and India co-existed for 4000 years without problems. Buddhism originated in India and widely adopted in China. China sent Buddhist monks to India to learn Buddhism from India. When the British were preparing for India’s independence, an ambiguity was left behind at the border between China and India, and since then, it became the point of conflicts between China and India, including a war at the border in 1962. Divide and rule, is their tactic used over and over again. The British colonized my country Malaysia in 1786. During WW II, when the Japanese came to Malaya, the British fled the country, and the Malayan Communists were left behind to fight a gorilla warfare with the Japanese in the jungles. After the Japanese surrendered, the Malayan Communist fighters went back to towns. Then the British came back, surrounded the towns and mass murdered them. Before handed back to China, Hong Kong was ruled under an iron fist, but when Hong Kong was returned to China, the UK pushed for democracy in Hong Kong. There are many reasons for the empire’s successes. But one thing stands out: hypocrisy. -Zeis Siez

The RF attract rich benefactors to a huge range of charities and the Queen really was a point of continuity in a world that's changing, rarely for the better. It's complicated, but no more so than elected leaders who enrich themselves whilst bankrupting their countries. But this is why KC wants and needs to slim down the monarchy - we're simply not willing to fund an endless array of useless people that give nothing back. The core RF are an integral part of greasing the wheels but even the Queen had to start paying income tax after the Windsor fire. She seemed surprised that after the fire for which the Castle had been under-insured, we were not to keen to suddenly be it's owners and pay the bill for repairs.

Your access to healthcare, education, everything is dependant on your access to money. Plus US citizens have been so brainwashed that their political education and understanding is in the drain. Better leaders....? For politicians to reach the top level they have to compromise everything they believed in (if they ever believed in anything). Better leaders... when you have a two party system that have in fact the same policies (btw this is not exclusive to the US even in countries with more political parties) you'll be waiting a long time for a "better leader". No I don't think we need "better leaders". That belief in a white knight that will come to save us is part of our problem. It keeps all of us good little peasant in our place it maintain the status quo. Because, to paraphrase snow white "one day our savior will come" meanwhile everything gets worse. We need leaders that are held into account for their decisions as they clearly haven't been for far too long... also no leaders could be an innovative option...

You cannot possibly be surprised at the current state of things, those behind the global warmng fraud have been explicitly telling us THIS is the future they have planned for us FOR DECADES. The only way to fix things is to pull out of the COP 26 Net Zero, the Paris accords, the U.N Agenda 21, stop installing wind and solar and go back to Coal and nuclear, remove ALL subsidies and restrictions on how much fossil fuel energy can be produced. This will produce a competitive market and wind and solar firms will go broke as they will not be able to compete, this is why governments have deliberatly implemented policys designed to push the cost of fossil fuel up. Subsidizing a cap on energy prices is madness, it does not stop the prices skyrocketing, it simply pays the bills for the consumers NOW and they will have to pay a much higher price for that cap LATER in taxes plus interest, it solves NOTHING !

NO !, what is limiting Britain's economic output are GLOBAL WARMNG POLICYS !, that is what they are designed to do, the energy crisis is the specifically designed outcome of the implementation of those policys, its just that the Russia Ukraine war produced that outcome unexpectedly early as all coal and nuclear power has not yet been destroyed. BREXIT on the other hand will allow the U.K to escape the socialist control of Brussels, and allow it to abandon the global warming policys the E.U required it to embrace , this will enable an escape from the effects of those policys over time and the return to coal and nuclear power in toto and the removal of wind and solar. Three big mistakes the UK made. 1. Leaving the EU. 2. Getting up Russia,s, China,s and India,s noses, and completely ignoring the huge possible markets in the east. (2.6 billion potential customers). 3. Placeing all their hopes in the US giving them some “good deals”, a very foolish move. The US regards the UK as a very poor cousin, who is only there to do as they are told and to bark at US perceived enemies when told to do so, and that is unfortunately what the UK does. Let's not be overly dramatic. There are cheap ways to insulate your homes. Hang carpets on the walls and insulate your windows and under the doors. Have one primary room. When I was in the US Navy living in Japan I've learned that living in America we are spoiled. In Japan heat is so expensive that we had to use UV space heaters like the ones security guards use to warm my room. I used to see my breath when I woke up. To be honest it was a better way to sleep. Our energy bill would be about 600 dollars if we would of used energy like in America. We had several horrible bills before learning how to save. We also started to shower on base to save gas money to not have to boil water. Taking a cold shower in winter actually warms you up just have to get over the initial shock.

Around fifty 50 nations fell under British Colonialism; while around twenty five 25 nations under French Colonialism. - In the Colonial era all Anglo Western Colonizers did in their Colonies worldwide was build infrastructure, such as roads and ports so that they could ship abundant natural mineral resources, raw materials back to Europe to make fine goods, since there hardly has any mineral resources in Europe. That is what Colonialism is all about; "Pillage and Plunder" at will. - For instance, it is agreed upon the fact that Africa in general has progressed a lot more in the past 20-30 years than 200 years of Western Colonialism there. Moreover, World organization such as United Nations was helped founded, with cleverly drawn charters, by the West; only after they have had enough of practicing centuries-long global Slavery, Colonization and Colonialism; in such a way so as to; - keep their accumulated wealth to themselves, - their accumulated crimes not to get prosecuted by their former victims. 😔

You idiot its GREEN energy policys that are responsible for this ! This is what green energy policys are specifically DESIGNED TO DO ! There is NO green industrial revolution , green policies have been designed to DESTROY industrial economies, did you NEVER research their stated policies that they have put into print since 1972 ? The problem is the conservative parties in the West were long ago infiltrated by the extreme left and have implemented greens, U.N, Club of Rome and WEF global warming policys. Had the U.K ignored the E.U and the U.N and just expanded their coal and nuclear while ignoring wind and solar the U.K would have NO problems right now. Green energy policys were designed to make energy unaffordable for most and RATIONED for most. The best thing the U.K can do is to immediately remove restrictions on how much fossil fuel energy can be produced and remove all subsidies and regulations forcing consumers to buy solar and wind energy, and REMOVE all subsidies. Straight away start reviving its Coal fired power stations not yet destroyed and start the build on more nuclear power, once the emergency is over DISMANTLE plans for more wind and solar, a free market where consumers can CHOOSE much more expensive wind and solar over Coal or gas or nuclear will see the failure of wind and solar companies, the U.K can then return to sensible policys designed to support the lives of their citizens not destroy them.

King Charles should set the example by giving and encouraging the wealthy in UK to give to the people in this times of need (eg. 100 million etc), not the government (because the government will either squander it away on Ukraine or some world problem instead of helping the people). He should behave as a king should, give care and concern to the people. Set up points to deliver food to the needy. Go amongst the people and show them the monarchy is still relevant, help the people as a king should. If a monk is in his shoes, he will give up his worldly possessions to help and alleviate the sufferings of the people. Maybe give up some of his land holdings to build affordable housing for the people, and show the people that he can do what the UK politicians fail to do. By setting an example, more of the wealthy will likely do the same.

This from an American "I’m a former New Yorker. I’ve only visited Canada, but lived in London for the past 25 years. In the States, if you have a good job, you can live very comfortably. But if you have a serious medical emergency or long term medical needs, this can bankrupt you, you can lose your home & be very poor. For average workers, the medical insurance is very difficult as the insurance is very expensive and on top of that, you have to co-pay. And many can’t get insurance because of pre-existing issues. In the UK, medical care is free, doesn’t matter about your past history ... the taxes we pay towards it is less than what people pay in the States for their insurance. People never have to worry about being homeless because of ongoing medical problems. Whenever I go back to New York to visit, I’m a bit shocked at how very poor many people are there - compared to London. In the UK, if you are working, but not able to afford rent, the government will pay towards your rent. It may not cover all the rent, but it helps. If you have children & don’t earn enough in your job, the government will top up your earnings so you are above the poverty line. If you are unemployed, your unemployment benefits won’t stop as long as you are actively looking for work & attending the skills meetings. And if you do accept a job, but it doesn’t pay well, the government will top it up to make sure you are earning what they consider to be the minimum needed to live on. My high-earning son had the opportunity to work for his company in the States, but he realised he has a much better safety net here in the UK for his family. It felt too much of a risk for him to have to pay for medical insurance for his family when it isn’t even guaranteed that it will pay for certain things. The only thing I don’t like about living in the UK is the weather. But everything else, in my personal opinion, leads for a better quality of life.

@@justmythought7658 Damn, shame if Ukraine keeps losing ground to frozen and starved corpses. Imagine Russian soldiers, not starving, it would've been so hard for Ukraine. Lmao.

@@MGZetta If the Russians are doing so well in Ukraine, why did they run away so quickly from the current Ukrainian army offensive that they even left their tanks behind? I'm asking for a friend ;-)
