It seems like the best of both worlds between Asus and Samsung with KVM switch of PG49WCD and 240Hz refresh rate of G9. The only con is Philips took design lessons from Eizo for the back of the screen 😂

Are you telling me we can have functionally an ultrawide experience on a console???? What's the catch? stretching? zoomed in? If its that good Ill wait for a 21:9 with this tech because this is fucking INSANE! Please cover this specifically more, with comparisons to similar 16:9 OLED displays.

I've had my 144hz monitor that I've used for 10 years, unfortunately because it was so old the only way I could get 144 was via VGA and with new GPUs not supporting that IO anymore I had to upgrade, it's a shame there aren't other monitors that are out with specs like this. well it's worth the expensive upgrade.

@@TotallydubbedHD Thank you :) Its like 100% brightness on desktop and 50% in the game after a few minuts, which makes it harder to see enemies,. Brightness should not jump up and down in SDR mode, even on a OLED screen for desktop/gaming usage :-( The added a feature called Uni Bright on opther models to fix this issue. So looking forward to a new firmware or the screen will get returned

@@JonZis2023 thanks for sharing this; very odd, not really sure what to say as I didn't experience this while gaming - certainly didn't get super dim and then suddenly jump up again when at a standstill. In fact, it's usually the other way around, say on desktop, it'll get dim automatically when it's not registering anything, and then suddenly jump up in brightness when you move your mouse or open a new window.

ABL IS A JOKE ON THIS MONITOR ! EVEN IN SDR MODE !!! DONT BUY !!! It dims up and down without any controll over the brightness
@travismeredith3715
2 күн бұрын
I'm still rocking it out on the monitor, perfect besides for the auto brightness dimming mainly while gaming, I even get zero freesync/vrr flicker which is great. But the auto brightness dimming for 1-3mins every 20-45mins is annoying during gaming sessions. They need to add a firmware update that fixes the "ABL". Anyone else get annoying ABL on their 49m2c8900? I've had 2 of these, each with brightness dimming that's aggressive af.

How was the PBP mode on this monitor? Assume it offers the option to split the sceeen in half into 2 x 16:9 inputs, but did it give options for other splits (e.g. samsung offers split into 21:9 and 11:9 inputs)

@@tadejpeckaj1151 pretty sure its not 100% glossy. So its like the AW3423DW ( Or at least it looks the same as that from what I am seeing in person rn of my AW3423DW. Especially seeing as it looks to have the same issue as the AW3423DW where the screen gets mark extremely easily ). So yes it is glossy, but its not on the level of a TV per say.
